Question for the masses -- my kitchen sink has been stopped up for 2 days now. The landlord was supposed to send over a plumber yesterday, and he never showed. (We called her last weekend when the sink was still slow, after it became obvious that Draino wasn't doing the job.)
If he doesn't show up this afternoon, are we justified in calling someone ourselves and sending her the bill? Because this is fucking ridiculous.
I think so, Jessica. You shouldn't have to be without a kitchen sink.

This may sound obvious, but have you tried a plunger? (It took me two days to think of that the last time I had a drain plugged, and 2 seconds to fix the problem once I did.)

Huh! We hadn't, but that's a great idea. I'm going to email DH right now and tell him to try it!
The last time Joe and I had a plugged drain, Drano didn't do it, plunging didn't do it.
Know what did it?
Opening the drain.
D'oh.
t /not helping
The cool thing about plunging is that it's a good way to work off the frustration of the plugged drain/toilet.
Unless it doesn't work.
No luck with the plunger. Feh.
t waves weakly from desk, surrounded by papers
I should be working. I've already taught two classes and have one more to go and a ton of grading, parent emails, and various bureaucratic paperwork to complete.
Donwanna. Want cuddly blanket and nap.
ME TOO WANT CUDDLY BLANKET AND NAP!
I want to be in daycare.
I'll give her a few weeks before I really worry about it
Try not to worry about it even if it takes her longer than a few weeks. Lord knows it takes me more than a few weeks to get acclimated to a completely new situation, and I've got 31 years of life experience to draw on.
