Walking I get. But power walking? Why not just run for a shorter time?

Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hec, you want I should come straight home and not futz with overtime?

Yes, please. And if you could print out one more Dark Cabaret mix list too that'd be helpful.

I got you fancy mushroom soup for dinner.

Emmett's doing Legos. I've started our fourth dub of Slings and Arrows (I think the Rio package needs one). Then we can do the Somerville edition.

Maria, your bouquet is one of the prettiest I think I've seen.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Well, obviously, I'm doing some overtime, but I'm leaving as soon as this one stupid task is done.

Mutter-grumble rassenfrassen state budget cuts causing fragging staff cuts causing remaining skeleton staff at many agency offices to struggle through the bare minimum possible and flop everything in my lap, causing me to spend an entire DAY setting up drafts for ONE LOUSY CLINIC.

::sends death-glare Sacramento-ward::

And I'm a horrid slacker. Sparky, I'm so sorry and horrified for your nephew! And re the asshole bully who did it, ITA with everyone who said "Huh. Wonder where he could've learned that," and I have this depressing horrid feeling that when he gets suspended or expelled or whatever, the lovely folks at home who taught him everything he knows about human interaction are going to punish him so more, thereby providing him another valuable lesson about fuck knows what.

All is well that ends in pizza.

In my experience, the only thing that ever worked to stop bullying was responding with enough violence to make it more trouble than it was worth.

When I was in 9th grade, I had trouble with a bully who kept sneaking up behind me in the hallway and knocking my books out of my hand when he caught me with my guard down.

One day I let the books fly, spun around on the spot, grabbed his shirt in both hands and slammed him against the wall and held him there. I looked him in the eyes and said, "Stop. Doing. That."

He stopped. Heh.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I suspect Owen is starting to resemble me more than his father.

I still can't believe how cold it's supposed to be tomorrow.

Just thinking about dealing with bullies makes my stomach queasy.

Aww, jeez, he's all grown up already. He looks like he's ready for first grade. He's an awfully good looking boy, though.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

He really does look like you, Cash. And what a lovely boy!

Silence means security silence means approval

It's increasingly clear that Pointy-Haired Professor Boss does not like the undergrad we hired.

First, he complains because she talks too much. Today, on my way out the door and towards the bus, he tells me that she shouldn't be on e-mail so much.

I wish he'd stop being such a micromanaging ass.
