There are programs that get rid of it, but I haven't had to deal with that stuff in a while so I don't know what the best programs are.

Trudy, you can download spybot (i think) for free. There are free downloads that can clean that crap off your computer, nice and easy. Someone in Tech can probably toss you a link. It's not the horrible deal you think it is.
