"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Because I'm trying to take my mind off the Greeks on my midterm by looking up some Indians for my paper proposal, and there happened to be a prononciation guide, and... I'm easily distracted. But, hey, for two guys who show up in every History of Math book ever, there sure don't seem to be many books about Brahmagupta and Bhaskara anywhere in the Boston area.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Does this sound overly insane and presumptuous? My agent says to of course go for it, but I'm not sure if I'm being crazy. Is this crazy?

****

I can't imagine that it would be in your agent's interest to make you look insane or presumptuous. Plus, that sounds way cool.

****

Yeah. I know they get 10% of everything, but I'd think your average agent would already have sufficient 'insane' and 'presumptuous' and be going for the benjamins.
****
Trudy, you probably have no way of knowing this unless you read GWW, but it was a much-loved Buffista who helped set up Allyson with her agent, who happens to be a relative to said Buffista. So maybe calling agents in general or Allyson's agent specifically insane and presumptuous is a bit over the top and offensive.

It saddens me that you have never heard an agent joke. There are thousands. They were invented approximately a half a day after "take my wife, please."

Fortunately, every agent on earth is familiar with the convention.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Pick space clams instead.

Ooooh! Space clams! They make good sauce!

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I know there can be more than one DVD.

Hint.

See how that was clever and understated? A nice counterpoint to JZ's impressive begging, which is not at all ruined by this post. Surely that should be worth dvds after JZ. Right?

And...I'm off to class.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Gilmore Girls is killing me this season. Everything is so painful, and yet if it were less so, I'd be disappointed in them for making it too easy.

TAR continues to be kind of a let-down -- this format just isn't working as well for me. And the two most annoying teams are in the lead! Where's the justice in that, I ask!

sumi - Oct 25, 2005 5:24:26 pm PDT #8738 of 10002
Art Crawl!!!

Jessica - there is no justice. I hope against hope that one of those two is out before the end and that neither of them wins it all.
