Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Ooh! I am going to meet JZ for lunch (and mojitos) and shopping this afternoon. You should join us.

Oh, so tempting! However I'm going to a friends' house for our once-every-six weeks Buffy marathon. We start season 5 this afternoon. But thanks for the invite!

So far today I have run, showered, eaten, had 1.5 cups of tea, and finally submitted my list of things stolen to the insurance company so they'll send me a check.

I think what I'll do is clean the kitchen, set up the breadmaker to make bread, and then take the laptop to a coffee shop to do some writing before I go watch many hours of Buffy. I'm way too sore to do any more gardening.

My favorite store is having a 30%-off sale this weekend. I'm very tempted to go spend money, but I already spent too much at Nordstrom's and TitleNine this weekend. Spending money is kind of addictive, especially when you get pretty clothes to wear.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Heh. Good Boondocks.

Mmmm, I just had the best eggs. Cut up Aidell's apple chicken sausage, sauteed it with mushrooms. Scrambled the eggs in. Add parmesan and then a nice, spicy garlicky salsa.

The dangerous thing is that Aidell's now makes their sausage in a little smokies size. So I've been cooking some up to have with ravioli, or making a sandwich of them, or (as noted) tossing them in with eggs. Instant protein hit with excellent portion control.

hip deep in pie

I never dry clean. If I thought it absolutely had to be dry cleaned, I wouldn't buy it.

I can go for about a month without doing laundry, but I am wearing pretty dorky clothes toward the end.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I just sorted laundry. I think today is a five load day, if we're to get it all done.

It's also Diaper Day, so I think at most, I'll manage two more regular loads after the load of baby clothing is done.

I don't do laundry daily, but on the days that I do it, I do several loads in a row.

Yeah, we are blessed. Right now, she's snuggled up against me, napping. It's the best part of the day in a lot of ways, even if it does trap me in an uncomfortable position half the time.

I'm not going to bother closing the sap tag. I'd just have to reopen it when she wakes up and smiles and we have a new best part of the day.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Lily is so beautiful and her hair is such a lovely color. Also, y'all are great photographers.

I take things to the cleaners. Actually, my cleaners are unimaginatively named "The Cleaners." I do that because I do not, under any circumstances, iron.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

ita, the red 9 and 10 you see is a DMV thing. You put them up in your window until your plates get mailed to you, if you've recently moved here from another state or have had to turn your plates in for some reason.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Hey, I have a CA DMV question. I submitted a change of address form with them (not too long) after I moved, but I never got anything acknowledging the change back from them. Should I have?

I look more rad than Lutheranism

My apartment, though messy as hell, is where you ALL want to be right now (except maybe the vegetarians). It's 48 degrees outside, grey and rainy, and my apartment is all cozy and warm, with some candles lit and jazz on the stereo, and a humongous crock pot full of chili bubbling merrily away. Mmmmmm. Chili.

However, I have to leave in about 90 minutes and take the chili with me, as I offered to feed my friends, and I was too lazy to go over there early to start the chili. Meals on wheels. Yum. I make GOOD chili.

Good Boondocks.

Julie is practically HOMELESS!

The dangerous thing is that Aidell's now makes their sausage in a little smokies size.

Really? Excellent! I'ma have to look for those. I love love LOVE the chicken apple sausage.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

The main light source of the future will almost surely not be a bulb. It might be a table, a wall, or even a fork. [link]
