Mal: Well, look at this! Appears we got here just in the nick of time. What does that make us? Zoe: Big damn heroes, sir.

Now tagless for your comfort.

We are having the most rainy Sukkot I can remember. It's very rare that it actually rains here in this time of the year.

My neighbors are having a great Sukkot. The weather here is PERFECT for sleeping out and the days have been just gorgeous. I can hear them in the evenings--it sounds like a lot of fun.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

On the evening prayers the Torah-scrolls in the synagogue are being taken out of their special cupboard and the men dance with them to express that joy.

As Tep said, that is very lovely

Back when I went to Catholic Mass (this was probably 10 years ago), a priest from an African country was visiting our parish, and he said the Mass, instead of "our" priest. And instead of the prayer-response thing that is normally said (or mumbled) or sometimes sung before the priest reads the gospel, he picked up the bible and (I believe he had a few musicians with him, too, who were playing -- guitar and a flute, maybe) danced down and then back up the aisle with it, holding it aloft. And the look on his face was utter joy.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Obviously I meant actual shotgun, as in 'weapon with which to mow down my opressors', but bacon sounds great.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

'weapon with which to mow down my opressors'

You should call them downpressors. It's what we do.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I probably also meant to spell oppressors correctly.

You're not allowed to go to jail unless you can be out on bail by next Friday.

Swouncing

Cashmere, I just love walking around the streets here in Sukkot, and just notice all of them hiding in back parking lots and roofs and such, each of them a nice little surprise.

I believe he had a few musicians with him, too, who were playing

Oh, during Jewish holidays (and saturdays, too), one is not allowed to play an instrument, so all the dancing is done in rhythm of the songs that are being sang (again, without music) by those who dance.

And the look on his face was utter joy.

Oh, that's lovely.
