Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm sure they have and I was just not paying attention, but it really just needs to stop it!

Not recently, and not much -- I think there was a W once in the 60s or something. The weather man here was saying yesterday how this year was tying the record both for named storms and for hurricanes. And then he told us how that means that those are the only times we've had that many. Um, do people not know what "tied the record" means??

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Oh I hope you don't need to evacuate, Laura. I can't remember the Hurricane names getting this far down in the alphabet, before. I'm sure they have and I was just not paying attention, but it really just needs to stop it!

It's the first time they've gotten down this far since 1933 or something.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Actual Information:

This season now shares the record for the most hurricanes in one season with 1969. On Monday, Wilma became the season's 21st named storm, tying the seasonal record first set in 1933.

I was close, but no cigar.

Laura, I hope it turns out to be nothing. Or at most a wimpy rainstorm.

The cat decided to use me as a springboard, with claws, at 5:13 am. Then I had a hard time falling back to sleep. Then I had ooky dreams. Around 6 I woke myself up laughing because in my dreams I was having ooky dreams and thought I really needed something to laugh at. And so something was provided (now that I remember, it wasn't funny. It was a bottle of handlotion) and I laughed in the dream dream (still following?) and that made me laugh in my dream and it woke me up again.

What in the hell did I ingest yesterday?

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

My cat decided to suck on my sleeve and knead my arm at 3:00 am. I do not quite know what to do about the sucking habit. Websites say it is a comfort for the kitty, but frankly, the kneading hurts. The suggestion is to get the kitty to knead something other than me, but I am sure warm arm feels better to knead than blanket.

I never went back to sleep, even after kicking the cat out of the room.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Happy day to Calli and Burrell!

On Monday, Wilma became the season's 21st named storm, tying the seasonal record first set in 1933.

Holy moly. But I have a question: if it's the 21st named storm, how come it starts with the 23rd letter of the alphabet? Shouldn't it be Hurricane Uma?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

They skip some letters.

Sophia, a friend of mine has a cat with the sucking/kneading issue. He started out especially liking knits, so if you weren't paying attention, you'd end up with cat slobber spots on your tshirts. They eventually found out he liked fleece even more than tshirt/people and got him his own, so whenever he starts up, they throw the fleece at him and he's diverted.

I tell them at least he doesn't hump them.
