We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

It's so hard. She was just here a couple of weeks ago, helping her oldest friend through the funeral for the friend's dad. Now said friend is flying out to help her.

That's the kind of reciprocity that shouldn't have to happen.

Worse, my brother had apparently told his F-i-L that maybe he should make sure his financial affairs are in order -- the man was in his early 60s, maybe, but he had a lot of different business interests. He said, nah, I've got some years yet. So now on top of it all my S-i-L will be spending the next few months resolving her father's estate, while moving to DC and setting up a new household, while my brother starts a new, high profile job.

Gargh. Life is so unfair sometimes.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

nah, I've got some years yet

Gah. Even if it's true -- doesn't matter, huh?

All this is so horrible.

It really really is. I wish there were something I could do. Instead I just sit and worry about my own dad, who's a lot older than hers. How come I'm so lucky, to have 4 living siblings and both my parents and two fantastic nieces?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

'Suela, that is just too horrible for words. I'm so sorry.

Jacked...

My intercostals were jacked. Also fubar. I like to mix my metaphors.

Which reminds me, gotta call the doctor in the morning.

Silence means security silence means approval

You know how it was Tropical Storm Wilma last night?

It's now a high category 4, with winds of 150mph and a minimum central pressure of 901mb.

Swouncing

Skipping lots and lots (which is quite an achievement, when not actually being here. Very acrobatic), to post that, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is a double Buffista birthday, both Burrell's and Calli's. Happy birthday, Burrell! Happy birthday, Calli! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year!

And since I have a crazy computer-schedule in the coming week, what with the holiday and all (see above, re: me not actually being here), I'll post already that the 24th will also have a double birthday, Kate P's and Rebecca Lizard's (whom I hadn't 'seen' in forever, but I hope the well-wishes will find their way to her somehow), the 25th will be brenda m's birthday and the 26th will be Fiona's. I hope I'll be regularly back by then, but still, early wishes for them all!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

What Perkins said. Happies all around!

I forget who asked the WW question upthread. What you heard was Santos making a jokey reply to Josh's question. After that, Santos said, "Oh wait, did you say Cleveland?" and it was revealed that he and the Mrs had broken the bed in the hotel room.

I missed the last 1/2 hour of the latest WW and the latest Alias. Anyone care to recap or sum up for me?

What is even happening?

Happy birthday, Burrell!

Happy birthday, Calli!

aurelia, I've got nothing.

Nilly, Happy Sukkot. If you were still here, I would tell you something, but I don't think you are.
