Now we're saving a vampire from vampires. I got two words for that -- Nuh and uh.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

...except for the minor issue of being willing to throw his hard-earned credibility behind things he knows aren't true, and for the benefit of people who pulled out no stops in smearing him in the most reprehensible fashion when he looked like a threat to them. Except for that, sure. Honor.

ETA: Sorry if that came out sounding like it was directed against you, connie. I just have McCain issues.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

An excerpt from the Colbert Report via Salon's review:

Which brings us to "tonight's word": truthiness. "Now I'm sure some of the word police, the 'Wordinistas' over at Webster's, are gonna say, 'Hey, that's not a word.'" But Colbert goes on to explain, "I don't trust books. They're all fact, no heart. And that's exactly what's pulling our country apart today. We are divided between those who think with their head, and those who know with their heart." Next to Colbert, a bullet point flashes "No Thinking." With the glorification of ignorance at its peak, this little rant couldn't feel any more timely. It's soothing, somehow, to witness Colbert tackling the profound absurdity of the times with such unbridled glee.

I haven't seen it yet, but - yeah. I'd watch that.

Our wings are not tired.

B.Jr. and I are watching the Colbert Report right now. Half way through, just waiting for the kid to get more pizza. Funny stuff so far.

Always Anti-fascist!

I was...sort of under-impressed.(Steven would be happy; that's not a word either. That part that Hec quoted in execution felt to me like it took three thousand years. It was funnier to read.) I'll watch another one sometime...maybe it was me.

Our wings are not tired.

I enjoyed the beginning. Thought it dragged in the interview. The last Stone bit was a lot of fun. I don't know how it will do over the long run.

Always Anti-fascist!

I wish him the best though. And yeah, laughed at the Gravitas-off...it's kind of sad that that is really Stone's job.

The evil is this way?

For those who may have missed it, here's the Gravitas-Off. Cute, but I'm not sure how this show will do long term.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I checked and the Colbert Repor(t) is playing again at 8:30 EST, so I get to see it! Go me!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

oh thanks for that Theo, I just set my DVR.

Now for tonight's events. I wanted to just go straight to bed, but no, I need to pack and cook up my perishable food, then try and get things straightened up so the cats can't destroy much, oh and some hand washing and run the dishwasher. Business trips are not so much what I want to be doing right now.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

My folks are downstairs, watching Law and Order. They leave tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow night we go see U2.
