This girl at school? She told me that gelatin is made from ground-up cow's feet and that every time you eat Jell-O there's some cow out there limping around without any feet. But I told her that I'm sure the cow is dead before they cut its feet off, right?

Then you're not using it right. Give it back!

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Still trying to wrap my brain around 74 not being considered a warm temperature. I mean, it's not hot, not even when it's a muggy 74, but it is shorts weather.

We have scraps of orb peeking through the clouds, but I don't expect it to last. And I envy all the people with proper crisp fall weather. I don't mind Seattle winters as such, though they could stand to be a bit colder, but the lack of crispness to our falls does get depressing. Though you could argue that three months' worth of mostly sunny and 70's in the summer is a fair trade for practically no sunny and 50's and 60's in the fall.

Hrm, all of my staple Manhattan brunch places are on the Lower East Side. Virage, on 2nd Ave/7th St is very good. Essex (Essex/Rivington) has amazing food, but tends to be full of loud drunken cokeheads.

I go to the east side so rarely that I'm kind of afraid of it. I think I might do a random diner...maybe Diner at 9th & 14th.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I think we're going to Hugo's! I have had Aleve, Imitrex and have an icepack on my head, trying to turbo-kill the deathly migraine I got this morning so I'll be good to go when our friends driving here from Santa Monica show up for brunch.
