In Nuttyese: "Bring it on, Bitch!"
No, no, no. It is Nuttyese for "I would like to butt in now, but am too polite to do that till you finish your sentence, so hurry the hell up."
I am large with the nonverbal language that way.
oop, marhsmallows are done melting!
DJ, I want to know about FEMA and their transitional housing when you have a minute and want to rant. Consider this an open invitation.
Dude. My whole job is to help people get into houses. We're just now getting the last people out of the shelters- but to where? Hotels mostly and apartments, some of which are charging horribly high deposit fees after 3 months- you see, they'll get their go'vt money and still recoup the rent. Any sensible agency would've located vacancies, locked in rates, and then put people in them. Got to be better than a hotel. And, of course, this should be done on top of any aid money to the victims. Thing is, even if they could competently negotiate housing, their application process and communication is so freaking poor, none of these people know how to get the aid and the housing. Half the time, I just bypass FEMA and go directly to whoever is offering housing. Third, they need to be offering housing closer to NO (which HUD did) and temp jobs so that people aren't forced to choose between not returning and surviving.
I haven't. I got stuck on carnation.
Hmm. Think fields of. Or Mexican. Or grey.
I just read that now that Stephen Colbert is getting his own show, Rob Corddry will be doing This Week in God.
Nothing against Corddry, who is damn funny, but...
NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Won't be the same.
THAT'S NOT A FLOWER!!!
IS TOO!!!
By which I mean, I knew it was obscure, but I didn't want to be too obvious.
As much as I love Stephen Colbert, This Week in God hasn't been the same since Joe Bob Briggs stopped doing it.
Daisy (man, I typed the wrong thing first) did you hear the TAL piece a couple weeks ago about a busload of people from Houston trying to get into apartments? I presume that is much like what you are dealing with. It had me howling, not in a good way. I even kicked something. Which, you know. Oh so helpful to people. I'm glad you are there, finessing shit because....man. It was disspiriting.
So for every day you go home screaming, know you are appreciated by people who are not doing what you do, but admire your efforts. And are glad you are there.
ita,
there was near Warrick shirtlessness on CSI!
Sorry.
Aww, I'm sorry to have missed the Czech Alias. "Yo" is also yes.
But doesn't get you in as much trouble!
Bon, you would (maybe- I think you learned more than me) have laughed at the pronunciation as much as I. It was....ok. But still.
edit: I wanted to hear them do fourth thursday. SPIT!
That's a sweet thing to say sara. I didn't catch the TAL because I work Sundays at the clothing store. What happened?
I think a big part of my frustration is that I take it personally. They had rules at the shelters- at least here and in Austin- that volunteers weren't supposed to get involved or make friends with people. Like they're
other.
I understand that they don't want uneven treatment, but dude, that's just not healthy.
I am watching my taped TAR from thsi week. Is this really only the second leg?
