sara,
your original post said that (a)no=no in Czech. That's why I was confused.
Edited because I just re-read the orignal post that confused me.

Not quite. Czech is in italics. No whitefont, because, HEY, language lesson!
Ano- yes
ne- no
no (abbrv.)- yeah.
Confused yet? Try breaking in the language the first week. Or hell, after a few drinks. I got a lot of extra drinks, had to wiggle out of quite a few mistakenly accepted propositions, and just... trouble. Oh, and there was that free cab ride that I had to flee from. Oy.
Neni zac? It's nothing.
Ack! Did I? Feh.
Gotcha - I edited. In your original post, you said that ano=no (not yes), so that's why I was confused.
Fingers, meet brain. Fingers, obey brain. And yes, I expect you to read it even when it gives you bad signals. Figure out what it really meant.
no (abbrv.)- yeah.
That is super confusing for an English speaker!
Good lord why am I not writing my paper.
Alias: Whee! I think everything's gonna go boom! Whee!
Have I mentioned lately how much I adore Laura?
no (abbrv.)- yeah.
I think I'd have gone a little bonkers at first.
Jesse, like I said. I blame no for a lot of things. Best one was getting completely trashed over the alps after I'd had my language center reset by a week in spain. They kept bringing me bottles of wine even as I said no! It was a czech crew. Alps are pretty from an airplane when trashed. Riding a city bus standing up with a 30 lb hiking pack on your back while trashed? Not so much.
