Swouncing

I like the way you think.

There's a 'midrash halakha' (at least, I think that this is the source), that a person should eat as much as they can, from as many kinds of different foods as they can, on the day before Yom-Kippur. If you do, it can be donsidered for you, so to speak, as if you were fasting for both days. The catch is, the eating should not be for a physical, bodily need, at least not for that alone - it should be with the whole intention and spiritual meaning that one gives to fasting, to dedicating the day for prayer and soul searching. It's much more difficult to do it with eating, with satisfying the needs of the body and having pleasure in that, than with fasting and denying such pleasures.

All of these have nothing to do with Jesse's dessert, of course. It's just the next step my brain traveled to, on its own.

[Edit: In Judasim there's a whole streak of sanctifying matter, not separating between spirit and matter, and that sorts of ties to that.]

Look at you, and the graciousness.

Another thing to apologize for!

We wanted to slow down on the way to brown -- instead the classes have doubled up, and the date moved forward a week.

Well, I guess it's kinda complicated to argue with those who know professionaly how to throw knives at you.

[Edit: 5*2=10]

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Stuck pigs (as in stuck in fences, on their backs in ditches, et cetera) squeal very loudly, very intensely. You would know there's a stuck pig on your farm very quickly, even if you're plowing the back forty or something. Your neighbors know it too....

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It's much more difficult to do it with eating, with satisfying the needs of the body and having pleasure in that, than with fasting and denying such pleasures.

That's so cool.

Of course, the other conversation makes me want bacon, which, good thing I'm not Jewish.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Suddenly I want to go as an iPod ad for Halloween. But I won't.

Those were big at the Halloween parade here a couple of years ago. I kind of hoped all the people dressed as the ads, and the actual iPods, were being paid by Apple.

I just noticed the synchronicity of my bacon tagline and my idle musing about stuck pigs. According to Jungian theory, I think this means I know what I'm having for dinner.

According to Freudian theory, you know what you are having for dinner. According to Jungian theory, you know what everyone is having for dinner.
