I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Didn't get in to work until 9:50. I would have been late by all accounts, but then my express train went local, then it switched into a train that does not get me where I need to go, so I had to get off, wait for another train (another local), then there was congestion....ugh. Monday.

and now I can't seem to grasp what I am supposed to be doing. I need like a half day warm up before I am back into work mode.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I think I'm offended at how little coverage of the earthquake I've heard/seen.

I'm offended at how little coverage of the mudslides in Mexico I've heard/seen.

Yes to both of these. I know we're dealing with our own natural disaster right now, but that doesn't mean the rest of the world just disappeared.

The cover of one of the NY papers (Post or Daily News) had "Osama's cave believed to have survived" as a sidebar on the front page.

Fire hits Wallace and Gromit sets.

Oh no!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Some play on characters or situations in the film Heathers, perhaps?

If Heather went by Veronica I'd giggle every time I saw it.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The cover of one of the NY papers (Post or Daily News) had "Osama's cave believed to have survived" as a sidebar on the front page.

Um... how do they know?

Pro'lly they noticed that the Osama streaming video feed is still up....

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yes to both of these. I know we're dealing with our own natural disaster right now, but that doesn't mean the rest of the world just disappeared.

Especially considering how they were so ready to go wall-to-wall with the London subway bomb stuff. I mean, this is tens of thousands of people dead, and by 20 past the hour, the news is already on jackass other stuff.

move out and draw fire

Yes, well, see, most Londeners are white.

Actually, it's the terrorism aspect. Playing up terror attacks sells copy, and can have a political spin (either "must continue War on Terra" or "terrorism increased since Iraq War"). I know that "Thousands die in Bangladesh flooding" is the old joke, but seriously, tremendous natural disasters going on here, folks.

I wonder if the white thing comes into play too... I don't think the bali coverage was as exhaustive.

Lucky guess?

I have no idea -- it was a very strange headline. (I couldn't read the article because the person whose shoulder I was reading over didn't turn to that page.)

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Heather, since Phoebe is my actual name, I beg you not to use it.

Done. I don't think I'd like anyone using my name either, even if I'm not going to. I'm getting attatched to Daisy Jane and Belle Reave though I don't know what the latter is, I just think it sounds pretty.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Belle Reve means beautiful dream, is a prison in the Batworld, and a plantation house in Streetcar named desire.

I'd totally gank that.
