And Kaylee, what the hell's goin' on in the engine room? Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Imdb indicates the Jefferson's theme was sung by Ja'net DuBois (who co-wrote it with Oren Waters).

IMDB's wrong then, because the credit should be Ja'net DuBois and Jeff Barry.

He also did the One Day At A Time theme.

::checking credits::

Huh. He also had a song in our oft cited Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo. ("Oy Mamacita")

Also, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure ("Boys and Girls Are Doin' It")

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I want a Utah Jazz funeral.

I want a Utah Jazz funeral.

Would that involve someone doing a pick and roll with the coffin?

I can't even.

Would that involve someone doing a pick and roll with the coffin?

It would be worth making a special request in the will for Stockton and the Mailman as pallbearers.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Beware dirty flying elbows.

I think those are part of the package.

What is even happening?

Imdb just gave me the part about DuBois. The Waters thing I read somewhere else thanks to Google. Will go do more checking.

eta...imdb itself credits Barry and DuBois.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I think the ultimate TV show theme song is the Mary Tyler Moore Show's theme, written by Buddy Holly's bandmate Sonny Curtis, who also brought us "I Fought the Law."

Oh, now some places, I'm seeing Barry and DuBois credited with both the writing and singing (along w/gospel choir), and in others, I'm seeing Barry and DuBois credited with the writing, and DuBois and Waters (and a gospel choir) credited with the singing.

Yeah, that's a good twofer. I prefer Husker Du's cover to Joan Jett's, but Joan's is still pretty good.
