Silence means security silence means approval

My God. I'm watching the college football highlights, and I just saw the most hideous football injury I've seen since Joe Theismann.

Our wings are not tired.

I keep trying to convince the boys to get into golf or tennis to sooth their athletic urges. Alas, they like more injury inducing sports. They both like football, but they don't really have the right build. Bobby likes baseball and his brother basketball. We'll see what happens.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have a friend who has a bad habit of going clothes shopping. I go with her, because I'm the voice of crank, and function as some sort of a leash.

Problem is, I have this impulse problem when it comes to pretty dresses. I can't shop on purpose, but I sure can drop cash at random.

I tried on this. It's so pretty. Silk. You can't tell from the pic that the slit goes pretty much up to where her wrist is. So fucking pretty.

She's trying to tell me to wear it to the krav holiday party, but they've done nothing to deserve it. It's so pretty. I think I'm inspired by the ur-dress in Serenity or something. Not that this is it. But I have an urge to go questing. I just can't justify this one.

But it's so pretty.

It's very pretty! Where is the picture originally from?

BCBG catalogue.

Man, I wish I had that life, that meant I could think of a reason beyond "shiny!" to get the dress. The friend tried on this -- ignore the cheesiness of the model and the posing. It was seriously rocking on her, although she's still undecided. Still, if I looked like she looked in that dress, I'd buy it first, worry about it later.

Very pretty. Also, justifiable.

Huh. I like the grey silk much better because the waist on the black on the black one looks like the stacked hats that Devo once wore, except around your waist.

I was just reading a Slate Article panning Grey's Anatomy (written last year) but praising Sandra Oh and her character. The author says

(Yang is) unsentimental, ambitious, and unapologetically cranky, almost like a junior version of Hugh Laurie's surly surgeon on House

And I'm liking that a lot because it's cracking my shit up.

Also, ita, you could have gone to the Fred Segal sale today.

They just look like stripes on her, Kat. Of satin, then almost sheer, then satin -- not terraced like Devo. It was a sophisticated hotness.

Okay, back needs to be stretched and iced. And anti-inflammatories ingested. I hate my body some days.

I think the difference between Yang and House is that House revels in his unpleasantness. Also, he's not ambitious.

I trust your judgment on that.

What is wrong with Lindsay Lohan's hair and dress in these pictures. Who let her go outside like that?
