I'm bored.

Just looked it up, and my machine is from 1920's E series (records lost by Singer.) It's like this one, but only 2 drawers, not 3. And the wood is darker, but that is probably age: [link]

I'm gonna find a picture of mine.

eta: HOLY CARP! This is the same series/decals as mine: [link] And mine is in better shape (machine, the cabinet has some water damage on the foldout that I eventually hope to fix.)

$20. I paid $20 for it.

Sniff. Everyone is at the movies. Which I may go to tomorrow or Sunday at 2 (because that's the only time that works with my dang cat's insulin schedule.) Which is SHOCKING.

I forsee a babysitting gig in my near future, as I got a friend's husband absolutely hooked on Firefly (he whines to me about its cancellation EVERY TIME I SEE HIM. I laugh. It was fun, but I won't whine.) So at least I have some notboring in my future. 6 month old wrangling!

Hey sarameg, what are your thanksgiving day plans?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I've just started watching Without A Trace, and there really needs to be more slapping so far.

Still haven't made them. Looked at fares today. Still open? And insent. It's either make plans or stay home.

backflung, sarameg.

Okay, I'm starving. I've just had a ~2 hour nap. But I'm all hot and oogey and it's too hot and oogey to either cook or go out.

I'm tired of the smell of smoke and the fact that the fire alarms at school were ringing like mad today. The fire in Glendale is all smoldery and yucky.

I seem to have regressed to a 10-year-old's vocab.

Fresh fruit. That's what got me through the murky days in 2002 when we had fires here and my a/c was deader than dead. Well, fruit and sporting a fashionable bag o'frozen peas on my head.

But citrus or anything slightly acidic did help cut the constant smokey flavor in my mouth.

It's not that the smell is getting in my mouth. It's that it's fucking with my ability to breathe. I'm so congested it's in the not funny range.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Em's all stuffed up, too. Poor thing.

Uhg. I'm sorry. I hope you get rains/ wonderfully effective firefights soon.

I've only run into truly bad air once and it was just nasty (in Prague, in April. When my nasty smoking habit made breathing easier because I could chainsmoke through A FILTER. Otherwise it hurt and I started wheezing and gagging.)

When I spent any amount of time down by the river, I'd return with my clothing embedded with coal ash and coughing up very nasty things.
