Timelies all!

Waiting for G to get home so we can grab dinner before Serenity. Theaters around here have show times between 7 and 7:30, so that doesn't leave a lot of leeway.

Seriously, if I were going to do pro-/anti-spaghetti, the gluten-free and low-carb folks would both be on the anti side, against the USDA on the pro side. FYI. But no one's really trying to legislate pasta.

Soon I have to leave to go see Serenity! I'm nervous. I hate expecting to live something. (Did I mean "like" or "love" there? You'll never know.....)

Weird things make me nervous, what can I say?

I have one of those for my bedside table. 1921, IIRC. I flipped the top out and the sewing machine up (as it would be in use) so it makes an interesting functional piece of furniture.

I'm fond of it. But it weighs a TON.

I bet it's pretty with the machine up. I need the flat surface area, so for now, it's not an option. I've shown the kids, in the hope that now that they know how it opens, they'll leave it shut. There's really no good way to handle these things with my kids. They're too curious.

And yes, it does weigh a ton. One of the people working the estate sale was trying to convince dh that they could remove the sewing machine before moving it. I had to give them my resolve face. The estate sale was only around the corner from our house, but in the end, we went home with the two mirrors and the picture we'd also bought, and Scott brought the car back to the sale. The man came back with him, to help him bring the table up to our house.

Dude, I got two things off my to-do list that have been sitting there mocking me for 3 days. Also got 3 deliverables to clients. WHEE! good Friday.

It's been a while, (and I'll check when I get home) but I think there is a serial/model number on it somewhere and there are several sites where you could look up the year from that. I was looking for a new bobbin plate at the time(mine is missing, but for $20, I can't complain.)

Someday, I'd like to get it functional, even though I'd not likely use it. It even had the old (dried out, crackly) original replacement leather belts tucked in one of the drawers.

OMG, my father has a significant driving commute for the first time in like 20 years, AND he just got a hands-free cellphone thing, so I'm afraid I just got the first of many phone calls at around this time.

I'm so jealous of everyone seeing Serenity tonight. I'm still not sure when I'll get the chance, since the next ten days of my life look to be CRAXY. I'm thinking of going by myself to the 9:50 showing at the theater near my house on a weeknight, unless I can get my critique partner who also enjoys things Joss to come with.
