Silence means security silence means approval

If he were Dave Roberts, we would have a genial mixed-race San Diego center-fielder leading the Supreme Court, and every decision would be in favor of Boston, and the justices would be required to sprint from chambers.

And Joe Morgan would never stop going on about how his confirmation has completely disproven Moneyball.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think I definitely have to go as something incredibly nice and girlie. A year's worth of effort has them understanding I wear heels and skirts and sometimes even makeup. But they're still surprised when I spar and deliberately don't hurt my opponent. I need to be something not "forceful" nor "like a man."

Angel works, princess works.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

She'd just go around telling people completely untrue shit.

Wouldn't that the same as a Tom DeLay costume?

Ye gods, no! Miss Demeanor would actually be attractive. Fuckable, even.

OK, people, I'm considering changing web hosting services. Dreamhost is at the top of the list. Good? Bad? Indifferent?

move out and draw fire

Pink Cthulhu is a great costume!

Jessica:Enid::me:Daria. More of a costume now that I don't wear glasses, though.

My favorite easy costume of stuff in my closet is scrubs + vampire teeth = Nurse Feratu.

I don't know if we're doing anything for Halloween, though. I was getting all depressed that baby's first Halloween would be a non-event, so the DH suggested we participate in the embassy party. But I'm not sure I can do that either...our costumes are always outside the acceptable spectrum of costume choices for embassy parties, and after years of doing our own haunted house, I am not confident I will be able to sit back and let other people screw it up, I mean make a lame-ass dork-a-thon work hard to make a cute box maze.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I love Robin's angel idea.

And something good for Gudanov and the other KC area baseball types:

The Kansas City Royals signed third baseman Alex Gordon, the second overall pick in the June draft, on Thursday.

There was much coveting of Gordon among M's fans, though we're satisfied with getting a power-hitting catcher that was promoted twice in three months.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

That John Roberts thing is crazy. A 30-year chief justice! At least he's smart, but I fear another results-oriented partisan like Rehnquist.

I realized last night, however, that there will always be a centrist swing vote. And as swing votes go, Kennedy and O'Connor are rather conservative. But they relish the opportunity to make the Court's jurisprudence in their own image. It's just like Survivor, except (significantly), without the voting off.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I've heard good things about Dreamhost, dw.

We'll probably eventually migrate our main domain over there.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Dreamhost is at the top of the list. Good? Bad? Indifferent?

I've only heard good things about them. They also refunded the hosting fees for their clients in the areas affected by Hurricane Katrina.

If you do go with them, let me know. They have a whole referral thing set up. We could both make a little money off of it.
