Then runs out on me when we've got plans. It's seeing other channels on the side. I hate to be the one to tell you but someone had to.
Yay!Rocks like a line-dancing rocking thing... Hurts like a sonofabitch, at times, but moving is a revelation.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I KNEW IT!
Bastard!
That's okay. It doesn't know that I keep another TV in my bedroom, just for watching DVDs. *weeps* I DON'T NEED YOU, BROADCAST!
Damn. I'm all punchy tonight.
You media slut, you...
I think my dvd player has bailed on our relationship. It won't turn on.
I'm so confused by the damned Lost scheduling. Is the episode that's running from 8-9 (eastern) the same episode that ran last week? Am I missing VM because of *this*? I would have recorded VM and then switched to Lost. UPN is rerunning VM this weekend, so it's not a big deal, but it is an annoying deal.
Yes and Yes. And yeah, annoying.
Thanks, Cashmere. When tiggy gets home from her vacay, she's sending me season one anyhow, and she really wanted me to see that before I saw the premiere, so as long as I manage to TiVo the premiere on Saturday, it's okay. But still annoying (because you know I totally would have watched season 2, and spoiled myself, and loved it, as well).
Stephanie, Ellie is GORGEOUS. Oh, and I had the same reaction (that she looked like Joe in some shots) before I ever saw the Natter conversation on same, particularly in these shots: [link] [link] [link] [link]
What he's going through is very natural. He probably would have gone through it in a more exhausted, and so maybe less aware state, if he'd been home at her birth. He's probably also more sensitive to it, because he was away, so he probably feels a little at fault. It will just take some time.
And, Laura's totally right, saying that he will have his day. For me, with all three of my kids, the turn happened around age one. And it hurt my feelings just a little, each time. But it will get easier between them, between now and then.
Unsolicited advice: Leave them alone together when you can, and make them learn about each other. Each time he has to parent on his own, he'll gain more confidence. Also? Let him do things his way--not that you wouldn't, but in general, that's something I see a lot of new parents go through. Mom knows the baby's rhythms in a way Dad can't, right from the outset. It's easier for mom to take care of the baby. Dad stands back and mom steps up.
During the months/years you nurse, it's always going to be somewhat unequal, and that's natural. But when there is stuff he can do for her, and when there are times when you can get away for an hour or two, take advantage of that, and everybody wins, imo.
Huh. Apparently it's my two year work anniversary today.
I just took a call from a user who says that he has dropped so much food into his keyboard that fungus is growing on it.
oh my God. Ick.
You're making me want to clean my work keyboard now.
It's going to be hell getting into work today, but at least the freeway's open. In fact, the fire's moved south, closer to the route I took home yesterday. And I have nowhere I need to be this evening, apart from the Palm store.
My favorite keyboard call, in terms of sheer hilarity, was the guy who melted his into a heap of slag, until it was like a bowl of shiny black cornflakes.
The grossest, however, had to be the one with the vomit in.
It was just as bad as he described it.
I need to get a box of latex gloves to do my job.
