Spike? It's you. It's really you! My therapist thought I was holding on to false hope, but…I knew you'd come back. You're like…you're like Gandalf the White, resurrected from the pit of the Balrog, more beautiful than ever. Oh…he's alive Frodo. He's alive.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Is the new officemate going to resent me because my decorating scheme is "piles" while his appears to be nice pictures, organized bulletin board and white board and a bunch of those despair.com tchotchkes?

No, they'll resent you for other reasons.

Does Wayne Brady have to choke a bitch?

God, yes.

It's cause I'm sitting by the window, isn't it?!

(actually, it's kind of pathetic. Being the minimalist I am, officewise, I take up only 1/4 of the space. Despite being here first, it looks like I'm camping in his office.)

What is even happening?

He'll likely act as though he does, but secretly, you'll make him ecstatically happy, as you feed his feelings of superiority.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I just watched "The Daily Show"...

uh, where could I get all the LOTR figurines in chocolate. You *know* if this were available online, it would absolutely sell out.

Well, except for Gimli.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'm so broken by the Secret Diaries that I'd want Merry and Pipin to have carrots.

I admit, I've never seen the ad, but couldn't they have developed a better cover story? No, I guess this is more fun.

The National Hockey League's return to television is getting some unexpected free publicity thanks to a controversy generated by Martha Burk, chairman of the National Council of Women's Organizations. Burk has objected to a an NHL promotional spot in which a bare-chested hockey player is dressed by a scantily clad woman. The spot, which Burk describes as "offensive" to women, is part of the "More Entertainment! More Passion! More Hockey!" campaign developed to promote the league prior to its season opener on Oct. 5. An NHL spokeswoman commented, "This ad is very respectful of women. The woman [dressing the player] is a spiritual and physical trainer for the warrior, and his mentor."

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Yay! for the Delay indictment.

ita, why are you wearing pleated pants?

Lisah, I thought the same thing as you did about the TAR comment. lisah "Natter 39 and Holding" Sep 28, 2005 10:03:02 am PDT

I had actual work to do today. It was kind of exciting.

Silence means security silence means approval

Rumor has it that Dreier was picked because Delay expects to get the Majority Leader post back and Dreier would be an easier person to wrest it back from than other candidates.

All the more reason to root for TX-22 to eject him from office. If DeLay didn't have so many tendrils up the asses of the Texas GOP, maybe someone would bounce him in the primary. Not as nice as getting a party switch, but still worth it to get the corrosion cut out of American politics.

The scary thing, though, is that when they are cornered people like DeLay do some dangerous things. Stand clear, everyone.

As for Frist, he probably won't get jail time, but it could squash his 2008 plans if he has to pay a massive fine. Martha went to jail for something similar, though.

The ultimate trifecta would be getting Rove nailed on the Plame scandal. Alternatively, it would be Santorum being caught having sex with a turtle.
