Spike: We got a history, him and me. Fred: What? Spike: It was a long time ago. He was a young Watcher, fresh out of the academy when we crossed paths. It was a, what-you-call battle of wills and blood was spilled. Vendettas were sworn. It was a whole-- Fred: My God you're so full of crap. Spike: Yeah. Okay.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Okay, here's a link everyone should click on:

The closest thing I could find online to the hat I'm wearing RIGHT NOW. Except my hat is black straw with red feathers. But, otherwise, same identical hat.

There was a woman at the RenFaire in Gilroy selling them for $26, in black, white, lime, hot pink, red and purple. I got the black and asked her to customize it with red feathers, which she did at no extra charge, and when my friend Charlotte saw it she ran right over and ordered five more in various color combinations. I FUCKING LOVE THIS HAT.

Bayistas please note: The same woman will be selling the same hats at the same hatshop at the Dickens Fair in December. (I have boring political differences with the management of Dickens, but I'm more than happy to pimp for this wonderful milliner.)

JZ, that hat is freaking awesome! Pimp away!

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

JZ, I love that hat! I think I need one.

::looks up DC to SFO tickets on Orbitz::

::seriously contemplates this plan of action::

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

Cute hat, JZ!

I am in my jammies right now, as I took a mental health day to get some desperately needed sleep, and, starting now, to clean my frelling apartment. It's a hellhole again. All the entropy EVAR is occurring in my apartment.

I'm going to modify a Flylady technique and start in one room, set the kitchen timer for 30 minutes, and clean whatever I can in that room until the time goes off. Then maybe 5-10 minutes break. Then new room, 30 minutes, lather, rinse, repeat until apartment is clean or until I have to hop in the shower before going to a wine-tasting at 7 p.m. tonight.

And keep in mind, this is just cleaning in the sense of straightening up/putting things away/throwing out things that are already out and just lying around. This is NOT closet-cleaning, which needs to be done in a big bad ugly way.

Okay, then. Once more unto the breach....

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Jilli and I have a friend who cooked for herself with breastmilk, as her son had a pretty severe reaction when she had cow's milk in her diet.

I am oddly unsquicked by that page.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Someone come stroke my temples and press a cool rag to my head. Why does my head hate me so?

Maria, if an SF visit is totally unfeasible I'd of course be happy to pick up a hat for you -- but, of course, only think how much more practical it would be for you to pick it out yourself in person, try on a couple of different colors, make a properly informed selection. So much more sensible! Really, coming to San Francisco is the most responsible thing you as a hat consumer can do.

move out and draw fire

OMG WANT!!!

The hat, not the breastmilk treats. I wonder if one of those hats would survive the shipping...probably better if I just fly to DC, pick up Maria, and continue to SF.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

{{Julliana}} We got room for you here in Niles - a calm and healing place to be - but my biggest hope - is that you don't have to come.

and

GO STEPH GO

today I haveing groceries delivered between 11 and 3. It was supposed to be a big house cleaning push. However the fog is heavy out there. andit is cold and damp. When I was walking home from the coffee shop 1) I didn't get warm 'til the last block 2) the fog is thick and low enough that my footsteps were echoing.

I could turn on the heat. But we haven't changed the filters, so I don't think it will be good for my lungs - and the last time I treid to locate the filters, I failed. and of course, that would be giving into the man who is going to charge me 70% more than last year.

Californians - acc'ding to articlas in the papers - tend to be pretty frugal with energy anyway. It is pretty wild to here them talk now about other ways to save energy.

My cat does not understand that opening the door and lettign the fog in would be bad.

Raq, sounds like a plan. We can carouse.

Alternatively, if I was to come out Dec. 8-11, I could do so for $245 roundtrip. Hmmmm. I don't want to shirk my responsibility. I should probably try a few colors on.
