I'm all up in the law now, but damn it feels good to get my violence on.

Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

I'd love to pull off Dior New Look, but I don't have enough curves. My measurements are all within a few inches of each other.

Maria is me. I'm just a column lookin' for curves.

Maria and ChiKat are me. When deciding which of the three or so basic styles available to me for my garb, HouseMum won me to the one I chose with the word "slimming." And on looking at a mockup in the mirror, it even implies curves!

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Then who would be juliana? Someone has to, or the world grows more pointless.

I think what I want, secretly, is the life -- or part of it -- that comes with a Victorian day dress. Like, afternoon calls. And being driven somewhere in a carriage. And having a big late afternoon tea. And, you know, a maid.

I don't bother with the "secretly." Or the singular maid. I want cooks and gardeners and maids.

Although I'm not too sure about the afternoon calls...I had to do that at our first posting: leave the calling card, be escorted to the parlor by the butler, chat over drinks/tea and tiny bites of tasteless food. It was fun to do intermittently for a couple years, but it was ultimately like role-playing.

VCC~ma to Jilli! (Can the Californista put in a rec?)

Because books.

VCC ~ma to Jilli, since I forgot earlier. Lots of it!

Although I'm not too sure about the afternoon calls...

In my version, though, it's only people I really like, and know. And we chat and laugh like always when we get together, we just do it in better clothes.

I have no idea. I'll be talking to a recruiter/HR person on Friday about 'job opportunities with VCC'. Eeep!

Yes, this is good. And if you combine it with the lavish afternoon tea, it's splendid!

And it's hard on 11:00, so I'm for bed. ~ma of all kinds!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

The bathroom was where it was suggested I pump when I came back from maternity leave. I promptly asked my boss if she was going to bring her lunch into the adjoining stall and eat there with me.

good on you, Aimee. In California at least I thought they were legally obliged to provide you with a private place to pump that *wasn't* a toilet. Don't know how that translates to testing one's blood sugar. Can you test at your own desk?

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Let the shallow work bitching commence! I used to be in a dept with a woman who was very competitive with me. Unfortunately for her, she wasn't me. She is now in another dept here. A new person just started working for me in my dept and Ms. Competitive (MC) has latched onto her. Now I have to hear about and see MC all the time. MC now knows of my plans to go to grad school so is now telling new co-worker that she is going to do that, too. It is so annoying. MC also has a very nasty habit of backstabbing behavior so I'm also concerned about what she is telling new co-worker. I know I have to let it go but it's hard. I haven't (and won't) say a word about MC to this new person. It's disconcerting to have them be so chummy right away, though. GRRR.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Today I got a See's catalog in the mail. The only reason I'm on their mailing list is that Dad liked their stuff, and I used to send it to him for Father's Day or his birthday sometimes.

So I'm sad. Not heartbroken, sobbing my eyes out sad, just an odd little twist of wistfulness mixed in to a very ordinary day.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Oh Susan, that sucks.

Maybe you could order what he liked and eat it and feel better?
