[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Busy weekend. I spent the weekend mostly cleaning. Meanwhile my MIL come over to help the school area of the house and redecorate the kids' rooms. My daughter's room now has light purple walls, a dinosaur border, and dinosaur drapes. My son's room has light blue walls, racecar drapes, and words he picked stenciled onto the walls. Unfortunately Leif picked up a virus and is currently running a fever and feeling listless, he looks so pitiful.
It just proves to me that I shouldn't have nice things...or something like that. At least that I shouldn't be spending money on that kind of stuff.
Horse puckey.

That's a really cool idea!
Jobma for Teacup Dave.
(vibing madly for deb all day, although she doesn't read Bitches)
Cindy, it will get better. Really.
I just found out that the guest who was supposed to arrive today got sent to Afghanistan instead, so I get an unexpected 10-day break from guests. I have learned that while I can now care for Mal and prepare food for two, I can't quite care for Mal, prepare food for 4, and take care of guests. The food quality suffered.
Also, why do two extra people result in 10x the amount of dishes?
Because you can't just rinse out your coffee cup from yesterday and use it again when there are witnesses. Not that I would do that.
Ah, brenda knows my trick! Actually, I'm more likely to do it with the coffee pot, rather than the cup, but...
I'm antsy today...really, really antsy. I have things I could be working on, but nothing I really *have* to be working on. And, I feel like I want to relax, because after classes start tomorrow things will be crazy.
But, I'm waiting for a shipment of yarn for a project I'm helping coordinate, and I REALLY hope it gets delivered today. So, I'm kind of trapped in the house till I absolutely have to leave. Plus, I'm hoping to hear on the job I interviewed for on Friday. So, there are these things that are just making me anxious and antsy.
I could start reading one of my school books, since the prof emailed us and let us know what we'd be starting with, but I don't think I'm going to be able to concentrate.
nope, you are in the putter place. where you dust one table, wash three cups, and sit on the couch, and then jump up to look out the window, and the pet the dog, and....
no, I know nothing of the restlessness of which vw speaks.
jobma~~~ to a couple of you , better day than expected ma~~~ to deb and happy school day!
I am still tired from this weekend. happily my toe is not broken. I hope to have pictures up to share before I go to work. ( of the wedding, not my toe)
There's a possibility that I may hear today from the job I interviewed for last week. They were interviewing five candidates, the last of them sometime today, but the division head was hoping to make an immediate decision because he's flying to Europe for several weeks tomorrow, and was hoping the new person could start sometime around 9/19, before he gets back in October, and get oriented.
I'm trying not to get my hopes too high, though. I gave them my reference list, and I'm pretty sure G or L would've told me if they'd been contacted, though S (Good Former Boss) is busy enough that he might not think to mention it. Anyway, I interviewed to the best of my ability, sent a prompt and hopefully well-worded thank you, and got my suit to the cleaners so I'll be ready if something else comes up. There's nothing more I can do about this one--time to find more to apply for.
I'm kind of anxious to see how much job listings pick up in the next week or two now that we're out of August. I've considered temping starting in October assuming I can find daycare and nothing has come up, but the more I price daycare, the less that seems like a viable option. I need a real job with real money to make a go of this.
::fingers crossed for Susan::
Well, huh. I just got an e-mail from the xBox service people. They have inspected my xBox. Um...you said you didn't have it. GRRRRRRRR!
How annoying, VW, but at least they found it.
If I made CI cupcakes last night, and didn't frost them, that makes them the same thing as a muffin, and I can eat one for breakfast, right?
