Speaking of pedantry, the funniest moment of the day was watching two punctuation/grammar/typo perfectionists spend 30 minutes comparing notes on a 10 page section of this GIANT ECONOMY SIZED document.
Good news: I cut 60 pages from my section; it's now a 329 page PDF. Bad news: I'm still at work finishing a crucial piece.
But, it's close. Very close. And for the first time since the university knocked me down to hourly (thanks to the new overtime rules), I'm happy, because at 4pm on Friday it's pay me overtime or I'm taking the office credit card home, see you Monday.
Of course, this means I may have to work Saturday (pick up document from FedExKinko's and ship it to DC), but I'm fine with that for time-and-a-half.
I just wrote my teacher that I will not be able to turn in the assignment I have due tonight. He already gave me an extension from Monday to today, but with all the worry over my mom, I have not made much progress. It is a low point assignment, so I can still pass the class without it.
Yes, I'm having grade angst.
Has anyone ever gotten away with a crime arguing nicotine withdrawal? Like, if you haven't had a cigarette in 3 days and someone runs up to you first thing in the morning waving their arms and saying that you NEED to talk to this person on the phone because they're angry and blah blah blah, isn't it sort of justifiable to beat them to death with their shoes????
You know. Hypothetically.
My teacher just wrote back and told me he would still give me credit as long as I got the assignment in by the end of the week.
DH called me teacher pet.
eta - was not interesting enough for a three-peat
eta - this one wasn't worth the repeat either...
Yes, I'm having grade angst.
Honey, you'll probably still get an A. Possibly even an A+ if there's an extra credit opportunity somewhere down the line. You're an overachiever and I'd be surprised if your teacher had missed that about you. Just concentrate on your loved ones and yourself and it'll all work out. {{{you}}}
isn't it sort of justifiable to beat them to death with their shoes????
No. It's only justifiable if you use your own shoes. I mean, if you're already having a bad day, there's no good reason to risk the chance of getting someone else's foot sweat on your fingers.
Triple post by the overachiever! Bwah!
there's no good reason to risk the chance of getting someone else's foot sweat on your fingers.
But then I've ruined a perfectly cute pair of my OWN shoes.
Unless the blood of offenders on my stilettos served as a deterrant to others....
Nicole - bbbttthhhppppttthhhhh
I'm going to crawl in bed, watch LOST and hopefully fall asleep right after.
