Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
That's rude, Sassy. Indignantize away. Also, {} to you and to -t.
Oh, that's right. fripperies. Really cool fripperies.
I'll pay her back, but am I allowed to feel righteously indignant when I do?My best friend called off her wedding very close to the date. I'd had to travel away for a weekend for fittings and everything for this dress.
I was so glad she knew she didn't marry him if/since she shouldn't, that never thought about the money. When she finally married her husband (new man), her mother either paid for our dresses or our deposits on them (I disremember), but as a gesture, not because we gave our friend any crap.
I would totally pay $65 to keep a friend out of marriage that wasn't right.
Sassy, your friend is being ooky about this.
I didn't even call off the wedding, my ex did. He actually offered to take all of my bridesmaids out to dinner to make up for the dresses, realized that they probably hated him, and told me that I could take them out and give him the bill. Maybe if I'd done that this wouldn't be an issue.
I don't even think it's so much the money, at this point. Technically I guess it's hers to do what she wants with. I'm more upset that she'd bring it up while she knows I don't have a job and so close to the date of the non!wedding. She hasn't asked me how I'm doing or anything; it's just out of the blue. It's a really crappy reminder of the whole thing which I didn't need right now. There are sensitive ways to bring this up, and this was not one of them. Since I know she doesn't need the money (ie, she's been posting on LJ how much money she's going to go spend on clothes) I almost feel like she's bringing it up to hurt me. Or that may just be the paranoia talking.
Oh Sassy. I'm sorry she's being such a twerp.
I'll pay her back, but am I allowed to feel righteously indignant when I do?
Absolutely. Please see above "ooky" comment by Cindy.
Ugh, Sassy, what an inexplicably crappy, petty, anti-best-friend thing to do. Any indignation you may feel is blazingly righteous.
Sassy, you have *every* right to feel indignant. The Universe needs to be nicer to the Bitches. Really, we deserve it!
Sometimes I feel like if there is a higher power, it's one of those three-year-old boys who kicks down everyone else's Lincoln Logs.
