Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Good to see you, Sean. How goes the battle?
Well, you know.... sometimes you're entrenched on a hill, with good archer and cavalry support, other times you turn around in the smoke and flak and get a war-axe to the crotch.
Lately it's been going okay. Just once I'd like to get a little plunder, though. Something to live off of in between campaigns.
In Lou Reed's parlance, a dingdong is something that one might suck on.
I'm not going to mention that to them, because, even though Mom watched BTVS for a few years, she didn't know the actual meaning of "bugger," but she thought it was really funny that Spike always said it, so *she* started saying it.
I finally had to tell her what it meant, and she found that EVEN funnier, and now the two of them use the word every chance they get. And they'd do the same thing with the Lou-Reed-approved definition of "dingdong."
Good news, vw!
(Three items on the to-do list have been done. Now to go through three more.)

I KICK IN THE DOOR!

It's the Spike quote when he's been captured by Glory, right?
Any tie to the number 26, or just the quote that we liked at the time?
(Unsubtle hint, check the section labelled Ealdormere Court)
Very cool. That was you receiving a circlet even snazzier than the one you received in the last tiara exchange, correct?
Interview-ma vw!
But O got to pet goats and sheep in the petting zoo barn and we saw buffalo, grizzly bears, pumas, bobcats and otters.
Read this sentence too fast and was really startled (and jealous) of O petting bobcats and otters.
Yay, vw!!
Cool pics, JSw! What did you receive the crown (coronet??) for? And, what time period is Pennsic?
If it helps, I always take your advice like this. Or really, anyone who gives me advice. Even my doctor at times. It's just that you have those mad looking up and extrapolating skillz that bedazzle me.
Steph, Cass speaks for me! And also, THANK YOU because you rock!
Nicole, Scott's on that for his Lyme disease. What a complicated drug, in terms of what you have to avoid, and for how many hours.
Cindy, I'm quickly learning this. Plus, only my second day on it and for some reason it's giving me nasty headaches. Ick.
Oh, poor Plei. I hateses spiders! They look at me and they jump and on the rare occasion that I'm brave enough to actually kill one, I have a hard time falling asleep for awhile because I'm positive it's little friends witnessed the murder and are going to come after me in my sleep.
Back~ma to Cass and Beth! Interview~ma for vw! Plunder~ma for Sean!
JohnSweden! How was Pennsic?
Really good, vw. Good weather, fun fighting, got to see lots of friends. People doing interesting things, like the oasis-like cafe of YourInnerVagabond, the guerrilla arts projects in the marketplace and performers like the Tynkers and Wolgemut.
Cool pics, JSw! What did you receive the crown (coronet??) for? And, what time period is Pennsic?
Thanks, ChiKat. I was made a baron of the court of Edouard and Genevieve, King and Queen of Ealdormere. Court baron is a neat rank that is given at the discretion of the Crown. It comes with a shiny coronet and you have to attend no additional meetings or take up any new responsibilities. They steal your name though. People take the opportunity to call you Your Excellency at every turn.
What time period is Pennsic? It doesn't have a particular time period, other than the general one the SCA aims for, which is roughly, fall of Rome until 1600. Ostensibly, the middle ages and renaissance.
JSw, I have friends who just got back from Pennsic. Obviously, it's a HUGE event, and I also have no idea what group (clan? family?) they're a part of, but I think maybe my friends did something organize-y this year, like with the money/treasury. Maybe.
t edit
I'm not expecting you to know them -- that's like finding out someone goes to NYU and asking "Oh, do you know so-and-so?" -- but I just felt like mentioning it. Basically, just sucking up bandwidth.
