I'll sign Sara up. She's quite adept at: removing diapers, pouring liquids anywhere and everywhere (smiling impishly while doing so), and throwing balls (or, you know, other less appropriate things), all of which could be handy when defeating the enemy. She loves beaded evening bags, so I think scepter-waving would be right up her alley.

We have an upgraded virus protection. I've had problems with it blocking emails from several of the people I have to contact because they use web based email and send attachments. I've found a work around for that. However, the upgrade now strips and deletes Excel files. The IT guys say they cant' do anything since the virus protection is run by an outside source. So we have to rename the files as txt files and hope that fools the virus protection into letting them through. I haven't had a chance to test this yet. It's going to get very annoying if we have to do this all the time.

We have to do this all the time with ZIP files, or ZIK as I call them now. Annoying to no end.

There's no good reason to block XLS files. I'd lean on IT until they figure out there's an override in most of this virus software.

It's even a good fit just as a job. (Description here: [link] It's just enough of a step up from the kind of event management I did at the old job to feel like I have a career with actual forward motion, but not so much of one that I'd feel lost and out of my league. And while I hope to start selling books at a level that will allow me to be a career writer sooner rather than later, realistically it makes sense to think in terms of a career path for the next 5-10 years as well, something reasonably challenging but that wouldn't require grad school or other extensive training that would kill my writing time.

Well, the doctor prescribed both Claritin and Benedryl. The Claritin is 24 hours but isn't as much a histimine blocker as the Benedryl. Benedryl, OTOH, makes me very sleepy. We agreed Claritin in the morining and Benedryl before bed. Hopefully, the itchy/puffy will clear up within a day or so. If not, then we'll try some allergy testing to see if we can pinpoint what's causing it. It sounds a lot like what Cindy said, mild reaction to something turned into a runaway reaction. Ugh. There is also a real possibility it is due to dye/scents in laundry detergent or fabric softener, as I use dye/scent free stuff to prevent these kind of reactions. But, I did wash clothes at Nicole's and that's when I started noticing the problem, too. I'm not sure what Perkins may use on her sheets/linens or if they even contributed to the problem. It's very frustrating and something else for me to keep in mind when I go visiting. I feel a bit betrayed by my body right now. Before the past year, I very rarely had these kind of problems. It seems like every month it's something new. Argh.
