Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Ah.

Hmm. 10 day forecast doesn't reach that far, but says Thursday should be 80 degrees. So no worries about warmth then. Um. I have no earthly idea. I have one dress I wear to summer weddings. A nice wrap dress, if you have a non-black one? A cute skirt with a nice top? Noontime wedding doesn't say "superformal" to me...

Also: how cute is this picture? Not as cute as the various buffista babies, but I'm loving it! :)

Silence means security silence means approval

A's are out

But this was their "rebuilding year," so hey, nice season for them. They're going to be mega-scary next year if Harden heals up and Crosby can play a complete year.

and very oddly, the Giants still have a shot.

That's just wrong. But then, the entire NL West is wrong this year. Worst record for any division winner ever, IIRC, was the 89-73 Red Sox of 1988. The best the Padres can do is 83-79 -- if they win all their remaining games. (In '94 the Rangers were leading the AL West but ten under .500 when the strike began.)

Ichiro was intentionally walked three times tonight. Reed (hitting behind him) went 0-3.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Are the Padres out yet?

Must sleep. Am gronked.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

My shoulder is still not right. It's better than Sunday, but not improving anywhere near fast enough.

t rant mode on This is fucking unacceptable. This weekend I have a wedding to coordinate, which involves a certain amount of heavy lifting. Even if I could find one of the other coordinators to step in at this late date, I'm too broke to split or forego the fee. Next week I have to clean the house so I can have someone babysit Annabel in-house while I'm picking up Mary Balogh at the airport for our writers conference. And then there's the writers conference itself, and all the prep for that I need to do. Not to mention the novel I'm trying to edit, which is going slower than planned because it fucking hurts to sit up with my manuscript in my lap and hold a fucking pen!

Fuck fuck fuckety FUCK!

This has got to stop. I can't even let my frustrations out in my preferred fashion, because that would involved pounding a pillow, which would hurt like hell!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

They're going to be mega-scary next year if Harden heals up and Crosby can play a complete year.

Honestly, our pitching depth is ridiculous. We've got the second best #5 pitcher after the Cardinals. We need a thumper at DH, and more power in the outfield.

Worst record for any division winner ever, IIRC, was the 89-73 Red Sox of 1988.

I think the Mets in '73 were just barely over .500.

Ai! Susan, if I were even remotely close to Seattle, I would gladly come by and lift things for you for free (or perhaps a nice lunch), just to take some pressure off of you. I hope it goes okay for you, and please don't strain yourself.
