Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I'm worried about the short stay myself in regards to your sister drawing the damn line in the damn sand.

"You're not coming back into this house until you've been in rehab 30 days" seems reasonable and I thought that's what the deal was.

sighhhhhh

Oh Cassiepants...

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

and I thought that's what the deal was.
It was. She wants to keep her family together and I get that. I just don't know if that is the best thing for her family because I don't see him getting a real ephiphany in four days (max, as I don't know when he left treatment but he went in Tuesday) and realizing that he can really never drink again.

Yeah, that would be a pretty quick epiphany.

And the 'NoBooze' or whatever its called seems... redundant for a guy who freakin' RISKS HIS DIABETIC LITTLE LIFE by drinking at all.

Your poor sister. I know this isn't easy and there may well BE no "right" way to do it at all.

So sorry all y'all bitches are having a hard time today. "That's the trouble with this job. Ain't got nothing to do with life." Know you're in my thoughts today.

Fay,

Life seems to have treated me with unexpected kindness on the job front - although I guess it could just be that they're hiding their evil rather better than the last guy.

My vote is the unexpected kindness is long coming and heard earned.

And thanks for the job~ma. I'll know by the end of the day Monday and I'm having a hell of a time figuring out what the hell to do.

I'm getting the pig!

{{{Cash and family}}} So awful, sweetie. I hope everything goes as well as it possibly can. Miracle would be nice.

{{{Cass and family}}}

My brother was on antabuse once. After a few weeks he started testing how much alcohol he could get away with drinking without getting violently ill. That was fun.

Sail, if you're still around, skip the store. You can buy them here. Just worry about making it to the airport on time so I can seeeee you!

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Raq, checking confirms that my bookmarked links are almost exclusively Regency, but you might see what you can find here: [link]

And here are two naval history links that might give you something: [link]

[link]

The latter is mostly about the ships, but maybe if you follow the links you'll find some uniforms.

Sorry I can't be of more help. So far I haven't written anything Victorian, so I haven't collected info on the era.

My brother did the same. My sister's theory that he can't even use mouthwash is more than a little bit rose-colored.

Christ on a poptart, I just hope he doesn't try *today.* My SiL isn't the type to have sporks on hand though potentially she will have a corkscrew which would be plenty painful and poetic to kill the diabetic alcoholic with barware.

I'm trying to vent my rage and frustration now so that I can be zen calm once I am there.

If it were candy barware that would be EVEN BETTER.
