Well, my days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle.

Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I can't even.

My default theory, Teppy, is "when in doubt, assume clueless." There's just a lot of clueless out there. It's a variation on "Never attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence."

Ginger is wise. I suspect that some combination of clueless and juliana's descriptive dance thing is closest, but tough to tell without meeting the doofus in question. As someone highly signal-oblivious myself (but hey, not -that- oblivious, I hasten to add), this would be my best guess.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Thanks, y'all. I can claim all I want that I know I'm swimming against the genre current, and that therefore it may take longer to get published, but it the long run being different and having a distinctive voice are Good Things, so that's fine with me. But when it comes down to it, what I want is for the world to Recognize My Genius, preferably in the form of a three-book contract, which I would've loved to have gotten for my first book, but am prepared to accept from any of my A-list publishers this January, as soon as the WIP is out the door.

Want it all! Want it now!

I had a gay friend who thought it was cool when straight women had crushes on him. He would flirt up a storm with these women and do other things to encourage the crushes.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I have nothing against the idea of flirting as entertainment. OTOH, all parties need to be entertained and realize that it isn't going any further.

Flirting with someone that you had to let down just a couple days ago because she had hopes -- definitely of the not good.

I think juliana's hit it on the head, but Cash is right too, he should know better.

Always Anti-fascist!

Is that always wrong? The ego stroke from being crushed on? Or is it because he's being so "My mouth is saying no, but my eyes are saying yes."

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

(((Gud))) Also? Whatever you just said? Hum in na.

Teppy, I--words fail. Did you slap him? I think I would have had to slap him.

Felicitations on the anniversary of your natal day, Nora! The rest of us are celebrating you today.

Jobma and injury and illness recovery-ma as needed and/or desired. Envy-coping ma, hugs, hairpats, every kind of good and pain--easing vibe to all my Bitches.

In quick to share my dream last night: JZ and I were driving (I was driving. She was not-spazzing-out-ing) along a route I know well but don't drive that often any more. It's the route I took last night to put me on the right side of the road to turn into the driveway of the restaurant where I met friends for dinner. It was the first time I'd driven it in possibly years, and was fresh in my dream-mind. But it's also very hilly and curvy, and reminiscent of highways in and around SF, so there's that connection.

She and I were discussing boys and cats, and talking smack about some construction workers along the way. Too bad it never really happened, it was great fun!

What is even happening?

Why do so many of you doubt he could be clueless? I think he's completely in need of clues. I want to paint a blue paw print on Teppy's ass, and super-impose a lip print on top of that.

I refuse to believe that a 38-year-old man is unaware of the signals he's sending via his behavior. If he was attuned enough to pick up on the fact that I was interested in him, he's GOT to be aware of his own behavior.

Oh, no. No. No. No. No he doesn't.

Clue.less.

I suspect he doesn't want to be like those people who say, "I only think of you as a friend," and then go on to demonstrate that apparently their definition of friend means "Someone I avoid like the plague."

But shoulder rubbing? Clueless.
