Ah, I misunderstood.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I feel like killing myself to shut her the hell up.
Or you can just, you know, ignore her. You don't have to give what she says any more weight than you give anyone offering unsolicited advice. If a homeless preacher ont he corner yelled at you to "Accept Jesus or Die" you'd just find that amusing. It's the same way with your mom. You can't stop her from telling you what to do with your life, but it's really just noise. I think your problem is that you want her to feel differently. You wnat her to feel the way you do and have your values. She won't, and why should she? She isn't going to change her opinion about what she thinks is best and neither are you. Luckily, it's your life and you are making the choices.
As usual, you are wise, Robin, and I understand. It's still so goddamn frustrating.
And the parents have special power. It doesn't ruin my day when a friend of mine suggested the same thing (lab job) a couple days ago. Of course, she didn't then claim that working in a lab is the One True Way to Happiness and Success.
Unfortunately, I hate the look of shirts etc. hanging out, it just looks unutterably sloppy to me. And it screams "I'm trying to hide the fact I'm not a twig!", too. The shirts always ride up on my big ass, too, and I'm always having to tug them down.
Ah, I misunderstood.
Nah, I just figure everyone knows what I mean, all the time, even when I'm not speaking.
I feel all productive today. Of course, that productivity has meant I spent 2 hours working on homework instead of work work, but I got my stuff done for class tomorrow night. And this makes me happy.
Tomorrow, I spend all day at a Catholic high school observing. I've never stepped foot in a private school, so this should be fun!
I think my interview went well today. What's more, I think I'd like to have the job. I'd be coordinating a benefit auction for a nonprofit that does outdoor activities (mostly hiking and rock-climbing) for girls and women. It's exactly what I'm good at--you're not going to find a better cat-herder than me--I hit it off with my potential supervisor, and she's the one who suggested I mostly work from home.
They're going to make a decision next week. Continued ~ma appreciated. If I don't get it, I'm going to try to take the attitude that somewhere out there is a permanent job in my desired salary range with my name on it, but I really want it.
All the ~ma I can muster for you, Susan.
Oh Susan, all the best to you. You sound like you've got it in the bag, girl.
Getting the perfect job ~ma, Susan. That's whether or not it's this one, but I hope it's this one so that you don't have to keep searching.
