Eunice is my middle name. Growing up, it embarrassed me, though I couldn't say I hated it, as it was my grandmother's name. Now I think it at least has the virtue of being distinctive, unlike Susan, which is boring, frumpy, and sounds 20 years older than I am.

Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Eunice is my middle name.
Sorry!
I'm never talking about names again.
I apologize to all the Eunices and Alistairs in the world.
I still think my middle name is worse.
I'll see you at the game, dear.
I'm never talking about names again.
Don't worry about it--did you see my edit? I got picked on for it as a child (over the Carol Burnett character), so it's not like it surprises me that it's a tease-target name.
Someday, when I'm published, I'll get to be a Susannah. So much less frumpy than Susan.
I don't think Susan sounds frumpy at all. I always think of pretty women when I hear of a Susan.
And Emmett is a great name.
My hypothetical daughters will be named Abigail, Lydia, and Genevieve. My hypothetical sons will be named William, William, and William. I'll call them Will, and Liam, and Jack.

I was just going to say the same thing. In fact, I've never known a Susan who wasn't pretty, now that I think of it. I don't think it sounds 20 years older than you, either. I'm probably a half dozen years older than you though, and it was pretty popular when I was a kid. I know a lot of Susans.
The only Susan I know other than our Susan here is my mother's exceedingly glam friend Susan.
I'm never talking about names again.Wait ... what's in a muffaletta again?

Well, there were four in my class at school, so it's not like I'm the only Susan born in the 70's. But it did reach its peak of popularity in the 50's, and is now extremely rare. I've heard it referred to in naming board discussions as an "old lady name."
