May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I'm getting the pig!

I'm sorry, Jilli.

Hurricane free zone sounds like a good idea! Thank you, Tep, for being brave enough to put the idea out there.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh shit, Jilli. I was sure you had it.

Because books.

Oh, Jilli, I'm so sorry. Stupid people. Don't they know a fabulous thing when they see it?

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I was sure you had it.

So was I, sadly.

My old boss, trying to give me a pep talk, said "Well, OK. Better to know and not continue chasing that one. From another perspective it does sound quite hopeful in that they liked you enough to see if there is another slot for you. They don’t often say that unless they are really interested in trying to recruit you on some level. Most people I know get a “Thanks for interviewing, brush up on your skills and try again in 1-6 months”. It sounds like you got a much better response.

It sounds like it wasn’t your skills but perhaps more of a team fit thing and if that is the case you really didn’t want to work for that group anyway you are better off finding a team where you would fit in better. In other words… you are too good for them Jilli "

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Aw, Jeez, Jilli, I'm sorry. They suck so much for dragging it out like this too.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Awwww, Jilli. That sucks so bad. Asshats.

sj, seriously -- you are GORGEOUS. Honestly, when I met you, I was speechless for a minute. And since you're also interesting and sweet and smart, Teacup Guy's people are going to love you.

I think personal 'cane pain gets a pass, at least in my book. If -t came in here right now, I'd hug her to pieces and offer her all my shoulders. Same with Heather or Dana.

I think Teppy's idea was to have one thread that wasn't a constant discussion of the different media reports on the disaster. That's what's been happening, mostly in Natter. Someone links an article, the rest of us talk about how horrible it is, and there needs to be an escape hatch for people who need a break.

Oh, good god, YES. I'm glad Cindy was here to speak for me while I was driving home. Definitely personal issues related to the hurricane are appropriate -- Heather has people there, Dana has family there (well, not there now, but still), and -t is currently nomadic b/c of that damn hurricane.

If they can't come get some love here, where can they?

I was just hoping for the constant update of news reports and links to same and links to photos and then the subsequent discussion to stay in Natter. It's so overwhelming, I'm already feeling raw from all the coverage.

But real Bitches, with hurricane pain? I am VERY sorry anyone thought I meant that was off-limits. Cause it ain't. It's very much ON-limits. (Why isn't "on-limits" a phrase?)

And, again, if you plan to shoot a man in Reno just to watch him die, hook up the streaming webcam first and give us a link.

My hair is very pretty.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

But there are some people who really are Bitch-centric and ought to feel like they can go into their regular community thread to talk about it if they need to. I mean, -t is more likely to post here than in Natter.
I think that it doesn't even need to be said, certainly not to me, that anyone personally affected by living there or having family there can come here and talk about whatever they want or need to. That said, -t isn't really likely to be posting anywhere for a while according to the Beep Me that she had Trudy post for her.

I never once read Tep's idea as "banning" the talk so much as saying that maybe it would be nice to have a place on b.org where we could catch our breath.

I don't know how this post is going to read so I am just going to hit the button, take a look at it and then edit or delete as needed.
