Oh, yeah. There was this time I was pinned down by this guy that played left tackle for varsity... Well, at least he used to before he was a vampire... Anyway, he had this really, really thick neck, and all I had was a little, little Exact-O knife ... You're not loving this story.

Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Do you object to a bitches' agreement to steer storm-talk one way and non-storm talk the other, without legislating or bureaucratizing things beyond that?

Since there seems to be a general consensus here, then I am fine with it.

My concerns are summed up by Hec though:

But there are some people who really are Bitch-centric and ought to feel like they can go into their regular community thread to talk about it if they need to. I mean, -t is more likely to post here than in Natter.

I don't want Bitch-centric buffistas to feel shunned from Bitches, especially if they or someone they love is in pain and they need support.

I think a 'cane free zone in here is fine.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I think personal 'cane pain gets a pass, at least in my book. If -t came in here right now, I'd hug her to pieces and offer her all my shoulders. Same with Heather or Dana.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

That makes perfect sense. It's the posting of news stories that make me despair for humanity that I'd like to be able to avoid should I want.

Yes, this. I just want someplace where I don't have to skim past quotes from news reports.

If we could come to a consensus on this, I would be more comfortable with the decision not to discuss the cane here.

Yes, personal pain always has a place in Bitches.

What is even happening?

I'm also in the yes-this corner.

I think Teppy's idea was to have one thread that wasn't a constant discussion of the different media reports on the disaster. That's what's been happening, mostly in Natter. Someone links an article, the rest of us talk about how horrible it is, and there needs to be an escape hatch for people who need a break.
