Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That website is excellent for covers.

Morning Benders album of covers also available.

(They cover: Paul Simon, VU, Talking Heads, The Smiths, Ronettes...)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

More covers fun.

Gnarls Barkley covered the Violent Femmes' song "Gone Daddy Gone."

So the Femmes covered "Crazy."

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

So the Femmes covered "Crazy."

That is made of awesome. And now added to my Groundhog Day mix.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Google Alert now informs me that my book is in the library system of University of Alberta Rutherford.

Yay, Canada!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Jon, I'm still chuckling over the Thereminists-for-Obama. I guess it's a small but passionate portion of the electorate.

I suppose I should start an Accordionists-for-McCain for balance's sake.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Agreeing with Theo that "Thereminists-for-Obama" button was hysterical. It's all about niche marketing with Obama.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Yesterday's Jeopardy had a audio clip of a theremin that the players had to identify, and no one got it. I, otoh, was shouting at the tv, "It's a theremin, you idiots!!"

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I think the button was Boing-Boing'ed, hence all the attention.

Yesterday's Jeopardy had a audio clip of a theremin that the players had to identify, and no one got it.

Oooh, I'd heard there was going to be a theremin related question. I forgot to watch.
