I'm also planning on going to The Hold Steady/Drive By Truckers. Because they are made of awesome.
Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
Saw Leathermouth tonight.
We were front and center. If I'd been murdered tonight the police would have a hell of a time figuring out who the killer was, I have the spit and sweat of about six people on me. The blood, however, is mine (elbows have too much damn skin anyway).
Has anyone found the lyrics to the FOB/Gym Class Heroes song, "Catch Me If You Can/Proclamation of Emancipation" online? It's from the CFOB mixtape thingie.
We are seeing Quasi and Built To Spill at the troubadour on Wednesday night. BTS is doing the entire Perfect from Now On record. Can't wait!
I have not, Amy.

"The Plan" popped up on my iPod the other night, and that's a hot slab of indie-guitar perfection right there. I don't remember the last time I listened to it consciously before that, but it really struck me how well they synthesized the Flaming Lips and Dinosaur Jr. and something uniquely BTSish.
I have a song on my playlist that has no title or artist and I really really like it, and want to find more by this artist/group/collaboration. It's a singer and a rapper, some mellow grooving beats, and the standout lyric is "all over the world".
Starts out, "In New York they want me, and I'm gonna be there. The city's calling, and I'm gonna be there. Ready to ?fight? All over the world." "In Paris/West Indies/Mother Africa, wants me/loves me, and we're gonna be there, etc." and the rap starts out "all over the world, spread the vibe...mi amigos at my side, ready to take the world on, do or die"
ring a bell for anyone?
Rascalz/Barrington Levy/K OS, "Top Of The World"
yes! [link]
thanks so so much, juliana!
And now I can go shopping for some more Barrington Levy, what a fantastic voice and I like his sound, from what I'm hearing on iTunes and Amazon downloads.
Oh dear. The Sisters of Mercy are touring again. I wonder if the show will be as awful as the last one? (Amps cranked so high that it was nothing but a wall of distortion, the fog machine set on "blinding" so no one could see Uncle Andy.)
But yes, I'm going. The StuntHusband has never seen SoM, and Pete is going with us so he can tell people he's Andrew Eldritch's younger brother.
