And almost sixty-five percent of that was actual compliment. Is that a personal best?

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

hip deep in pie

I saw shiny, shiny brocade pants the other day. I thought I was having a flashback.

This picture provides information about both the fashion and the music of the 80s:

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

"Newwave, a worldwide eighties movement..."

Heh.

“Not dead yet!”

Driving Abby to school today, I was flipping channels on the radio and had a serious flashback moment when I chanced across Loverboy. Tight jeans! Big hair! Synchronized headbanging!

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

One leftover from the 80s sticks with me--the fabulousness of Converse low-tops. Loves them.

Another item that doesn't age badly because it was a throwback to begin with. I still have two pairs (on black with white trim; one all-black).

Alas, I can't wear Converse-- the rubber cap hits me at the worst possible place and I always wind up with blisters or raw spots, no matter what kind of socks I wear. Which bums me, because I have a really cute pink pair that I love.

I did, however, recently indulge my inner 15 year old by buying myself a custom pair of these.

So sad! I'm wearing my teal double-tongued ones right now! (AIFG!) [link]

I also have silver [link]

and black with white stars [link]

and pink [link]

...I really should put myself on novelty converse buying restriction for a year or so. Ridic!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I am with Lisah! I have leather ones, and turquoise blue, and pinstripped.

I need more. I noticed the other day that they had pink gingham low tops, and they have been on my wish list for ever.
