Foals frontman Philippakis said members of his band were handcuffed by police after the fracas and nearly missed a UK gig the next day.
Speaking to fans at the Latitude Festival in Suffolk on Sunday, he said: "We were in Spain yesterday and I got into a fight with Johnny Rotten. I don't know why I'm telling you all this, but I was handcuffed and we nearly didn't make it."
He went on to dedicate the next song to "Johnny Rotten and his meathead friends".
The Kaiser Chiefs were not willing to comment publicly on the attack yesterday, but sources close to the band told The Independent that Wilson and his bandmates had witnessed the alleged assault and tried to stop it.
"Ricky and the others saw what was going on and stepped in to help them," the source said.
"I don't think they'll be saying anything publicly though because of the racism element which makes it a difficult situation."
Bloc Party informed police in Barcelona of the attack and have given a statement to British police, the news report said.
Lydon last night dismissed the other bands at the festival in Barcelona as "jealous fools", adding that "lies and confusion usually follow," the newspaper reported.
He also had some sharp words for Okereke.
"Grow up and learn to be a true man. When you have achieved as much as I have, come back and talk to me," Lydon said.

What a fucktard. There goes the last remaining remnants of respect I had for that man.
Juliebird, if you're looking for True New Orleans, you have to include some Irma Thomas. She's a soul singer, but if you squint hard enough she might pass for bluesy.
If you want a lesser known example of the '50s New Orleans rock 'n' roll style, Benny Spellman's "Lipstick Traces" is incomparable.
That sounds a lot like a dumb publicity stunt. I mean, Lydon was in a band with Jah Wobble during the years of English punk's flirtation with the racist side of skinhead culture.
Y'all were looking for New Orleans music and nobody pinged me? Really?
No New Orleans collection would be complete without St. James Infirmary. Ohh. And Galactica! Let me grab the pod...
On my mix is Tell it Like it is, Louisiana 1927, Carnival Time, Southern Nights, J'Ai Vu le Loup, le Renard et la Belette, Zydeco Gris-Gris, Mudbugs and Dixie Beer, Meet de Boys on the Battlefront, Dog Hill, Laissez Faire, Hot Tamale Baby, The Right Key But the Wrong Keyhole, Mardi gras Mambo, Going Back to Louisiana, Jambalaya, Going Back to New Orleans, Don't You Feel My Leg, Iko Iko, No City Like New Orleans, I'm Walkin, Go Go, Canaille, St Phillip Street Breakdown, You Can Have My Husband But Please Don't Take My Man, I Thought I Heard Buddy Bolden Say, More Hipper, Drop Me Off In New Orleans, Do You Know What it Means to Miss New Orleans, Let the Good Times Roll, That's Enough of That Stuff, Hey Pocky A-Way,St. James Infirmary, Tipitina, Feel Like Funkin It Up, Red Beans, Ooh Poo Pah Doo, Bayou Noir, King of the Mardi Gras, My Louisiane,
Speaking of St. James Infirmary, that's how I got to know it.
Edit: Oh, and thanks for the Irma Thomas reminder. It was good to listen to one of the few-songs-of-her's-I-know again.
I woke up this morning with an inexplicable urge to create a new mix that harkens back to high school.

I have to wonder what in hell my subconscious is up to.
I have to wonder what in hell my subconscious is up to.
Whatever it's up to, it's wearing a "Members Only" jacket.
No, but I think I may need it for my "Stickshifts and Safetybelts" Mix.
Is that the mix you're doing for August? I have to do a road trip mix soon and will be looking for suggestions.
Whatever it's up to, it's wearing a "Members Only" jacket.
Tell me about it. I have to think it might be for a story idea because that's how my brain tends to work.
And you know, never actually had a Members Only. At least not a real one. My mom bought me a fake. Pink. Of course. *rolls eyes*
I will 'fess up to an unholy addiction to my Reebok Freestyle Hightops.
::hugs Barb tight::
But you forgot "Always Something There to Remind Me," and "Let's Go Crazy," and "Born in the USA", and "I Love Rock 'n' Roll"!
