Hey, look! It's the intersection of realms of interest.
Patrick Stump covers Tom Waits' song "Tom Traubert's Blues".
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Envy.
Truth is that they had sound problems for the first five songs or so. All bass and high end, but no mid range. Once the soundman got his shit together, they made a powerful ugly noise, which is, y'know, one of the things you want at your metal show. The highlight was "Naki Kyoku," the superlong song off of Akuma No Uta. I mean, DAMN! it rocked.
IT'S HEEEEEEREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I got the mask I think is Ray's.
BECAUSE RAY LOVEZ MEEEEEE
An amazing cover of Feeling Good by the very wonderful Ruth Dolores Weiss is now available on the nearest Buffistarawk to you, because it's so good.
I have never seen an audience be so delighted to be abused.

I have hugged the box to my bosom more than once.
Between it and my new bass I'm all hugged out.

Not rumor, truth! From his blog (because I'm kind of Files and Records like that sometimes):
I hear Scarlett Johansson's putting out a debut album of Tom Waits covers. I'm a fan of Waits so I started pestering her management around a year or two ago to duet with her. She rejected me like I was in high school again with an alleged "Oh no, I hate Fall Out Boy." Fair enough, that's not the first time I've heard that this week.
Nonetheless, I was bummed because I really just wanted to sing some Tom Waits. So I sat at a piano, pressed record, and plunked this one out. Were I trying to impress message boards with my knowledge of Waits, I certainly would have picked something more obscure. Perhaps something off the out of print Night On Earth soundtrack. Or the song he wrote for Solomon Burke. Or that early demo of his I think is called "Up Shit Creek," or something to that effect. But fuck that, the value of scene points is dropping like that of American currency or my patience for LA drivers. I just really like this song, so I did it."
I called it rumor b/c I couldn't remember where I'd seen it. Thanks, Aillean.
Oh, P. Stump.
