River: You're not right, Early. You're not righteous. You've got issues. Early: No. Oh, yes, I could have that. You might have me figured out, then. Good job. I'm not 100%.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Maybe. I think he hates that band though. I should maybe also mention that he's a drummer. He likes good drumming.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

He likes good drumming.

He should check out The Ruts. Dave Ruffy will blow his mind.

ION: Jesus! Now NPR wants to interview me in-studio about the Jonas Brother.

I can't buy a review of my Tom Waits book, but first Details then the LA Times and now NPR wants me to talk about the latest flavor of boy band.

It's not like I'm making any more money on the Bubblegum Book, folks.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Tell NPR you'll only come in if they plug the new book.

I've been working on an angle! Because I can talk about Tom Waits career with major labels and how that era in the music biz is completely over, and the Jonas Brothers represent an entirely different model which reflects: vertical integration (studio owns product and distribution - which, curiously, was the very scenario that the Supreme Court considered a monopoly when they broke up the movie studio stystem), illegal downloading (hence making more money from touring than sales), new distribution (Wal-Mart, Starbucks, iTunes) etc.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

It's not like I'm making any more money on the Bubblegum Book, folks.

You should tell NPR that. Maybe they'll shift their expert expectations accordingly.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.
