Hec, are you seeing the Breeders today?
I wish. Emmett had a game (which we lost). So it was a lose/lose proposition.
Emmett did hit a double off the fence, though, so that was good.
'Heart Of Gold'
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

I mean Doves, but I have problems not using definite articles in band names like that.
I really dig "The Last Broadcast" but "Some Cities" is really good too. You know, if you're going to listen to everything I say and make it happen in your own life.
Anybody seen the Steampunk band Abney Park?
Ooh
What makes them "Steampunk" other than their old-timey costumes?

Their old timey website? Also apparently mod their instruments.

They're Seattle-based, been around forever, and have been "Steampunk" for about two years now.

Their previous backup singer/dancing girl was very fond of Steampunk and convinced the band to make it their gimmick.
... I have a LOT more I could say about Abney Park, but I won't, other than to mention I've never gotten into their music in spite of hearing it at local clubs for years and years.

Come on! Let the catty out of the bag!

They have a habit of experimenting with whatever vaguely gothy genre or sound looks to be the Next Big Thing in the subculture. They also go through members rather quickly, with the exception of the lead singer and his wife who plays keyboards. They also have a history of bringing in gothy model-type girls as backing vocalists, dancers, or additional musicians. The girls usually stick around for a year, and then "go on hiatus".
None of which is really that big a deal, but like I said, I also just can't get into their music. It doesn't make any impression on me at all.
the Next Big Thing in the subculture
Speaking of which, is there something in the Goth pipeline behind Steampunk? Any new and exciting trends in gothery?
