"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Pictures of the 2005 Bubblegum Achievement Awards including Toni Wine and Ron Dante dueting on "Sugar, Sugar."

I didn't get to go. But I did write Ron's induction speech into the hall of fame.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Hec, are you familiar with Wilson Pickett's version of "Sugar, Sugar"?

I heard it for the first time not long ago. He turns it into a completely different song.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

dw, my current tagline is from the Goats as well.

Today was, oddly, a big Dylan day. I think it's the change in the weather.

Speaking of Dylan, I enjoyed the PBS documentary so much that I went out and bought the 2-disc No Direction Home soundtrack (Bootleg series volume 7). It is soooooo good. It may not seem worth it to get yet another compendium with "Don't Think Twice," but it's really an excellent selection of live, alternate and unreleased takes that I don't have elsewhere in my (large but not you know DYLAN-FAN-large) collection.

ETA: stupid formating grumblegrumble here is the track list: [link]

Just in from the Gang of (fucking) Four. I'd count the ways that it kicked ass, but Gandalfe would hunt me down and kill me.
