Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
Hey, Jilli pushed me into it! One stupid concert with MCR, and POW! I was suddenly 20 years younger and reading shit on Buzznet. It was AWESOME.
IOW, pushers are GOOD.
Also, I love the fact that I can be in the not-crowded bars during all-ages shows for these bands, as their fanbase trends younger than the drinking age.

Oh wordy word word!
I intend to whip out a chaise lounge and an umbrella drink on the balcony of Electric Factory at the Philly show.

That doesn't stop some of them from hitting on us older types. 20 year old scene boys, so cute! Like puppies!
They were IN the bar area!
...
And cute like musically savant puppies.
RE: Leathermouth, Jamia isn't in the band, but Skeleton Crew is co-owned between her and Frank, so she's involved.
RE: Patrick Stump, he's two months older than me. Joe Trohman is two months younger. This confounds and bewilders me.
RE: That Bob Bryar clip, dude. Dude. I watched it before going to bed last night. Predictably, I had very happy dreams.
Long long posts ago, but:
I promise I will post more about this, once my brain has surfaced from the decongestant hell it's stuck in.
Thanks, Jilli!
Oh, my god, 50 posts about bandom.
t checks to make sure she did not accidentally log on to LJ instead
I just think that Pete has no filter - what other people think the rest of the world won't want to hear, Pete puts into song.
This makes me love him lots. Now I have to go back and look up all the FOB lyrics.

That phrase describes half of the BANDS in bandom.
Glad y'all enjoyed the Pierces clip.
I'm here-and-there on the bandom trend.
Panic! got me with the video and song "I Write Sins, Not Tragedies," much like All American Rejects did with "Dirty Little Secret." I think clever song + clever video idea = getting Fred's attention.
On the other hand, Gym Class Heroes leave me ice cold. And Fall Out Boy doesn't do much more.
Avril Lavigne has moments. Though that may be because, when she first arrived on the scene, radio wasn't playing anything that did anything for me. Then along came "Complicated," which was at least a little bit different. And I'll vote a big YES! on Gwen Stefani, who either is or at least appears to be very comfortable with herself. Though I'm not sure the pop scene has room for too many of her.
I would like to see some of today's British female vocal groups cross the Atlantic. Especially the Sugababes (who are the Spice Girls, grown up the right way) and Girls Aloud (about whom my only criticism is that they aren't the Sugababes).
