There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Other than Allmusic? Probably not

Allmusic is the one I was thinking of but I couldn't remember the name and had removed it from my bookmarks because it doesn't really work with the old OS and browser I have to use here at work. I'll have to remember to look it up at home on shinier computer.

thanks!

lisah -

wikipedia's johnny cash discography seems to be more or as complete as allmusic's and I bet whatever browser you're on now can handle it: [link]

thanks, tina!

We're doing a Johnny Cash tribute next month and are in the process of figuring out which 3 or so songs to do. I think my vote is going to be for "Hardin Wouldn't Run." such a great song. (also sometimes I like to sing it as "Harbin Wouldn't Run" because of how that's my last name)

I assume we're are all ready to go buy a copy of "Do They Know it's Halloween?" to help raise money for Unicef this year?

My favorite bit in the NYTimes story:

The participants in "Do They Know It's Halloween?" were alternately amused and confused by the project. Mr. Gollner said the singer-rapper Peaches at first thought the Bush administration was trying to ban Halloween.

I knew that topless lady had something up her sleeve. - John Prine

She wouldn't run because she'd drive the car she got "One Piece at a Time"! (And it didn't cost her a dime!)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Heh. Joe has the same fondness for "One Piece At A Time" that I do. Though I first heard it on an early Cash tribute album. The one with Marc Almond on it.

also, joe, I got the box!

Pee Wee, Star Wars on the Beach, early R.E.M.! Fun!
