Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Attention fans of catchy music! (especially catchy lowfi pop/punk)(I almost asscapped that.) I just "discovered" a song by the Bartlebees called "She Loves Monsters." It is catchy as fuck. You can hear it here: [link]

I added the song to my iTunes in Nov of '05 but I don't remember where I got it. It's from the album Urban Folk Legends. Apparently their stuff is a little hard to find? Anyway, I found two more excellent songs from the same album today - "Safety Pin Stuck In My Heart" and "And Then Suddenly." I think I need more by this band.

eta: Ah, I think I got it from one of Hec's Halloween mixes.... DavidS "Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach" Oct 16, 2005 3:44:40 pm PDT

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I was gonna say, Tommy, that song probably came from me.

I love it though. I also put it on my indie pop mix.

I sent it to Continuum last night.

Fuck yeah! ::pumps fist:: Congratulations.

Not a word from the editor yet, which I find a bit anxiety-inducing.

Sometimes he get stuck in all day meetings. Feel free to nudge him and say, "Did you get it? Is it okay?"

Art Crawl!!!

I heard this on NPR this morning (but this is from the Billboard newsletter):

Chili Peppers Sue Showtime

Members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers have sued Showtime Networks and others over the new television show called "Californication," the same name used by the band for their Grammy-nominated 1999 album.

Wow. Californication was nominated for a Grammy? (OK, I've never heard the whole album, but I think the song is lame.)

Actually, I was wondering about that. I'd assumed that the network had reached some agreement with the Chili Peppers over the name.

Art Crawl!!!

Apparently not. And is it true that the main character's name is also a Red Hot Chili Peppers song title?

Bob Underthebridge?

OK, I have no idea.

hip deep in pie

Titles, I'm pretty sure this is true in the US too, are not copyrightable, so I'm not sure what the lawsuit is about.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Thanks, David! I'm very, very happy to finally get to this point. I have a couple of questions about what your experience was at this point. Do you have a few minutes for a gmail chat?

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

"Safety Pin Stuck In My Heart"

I'm gonna guess that this is a cover of the awesome single by Patrick Fitzgerald. Someone put it up as a part of a huge-ass mix, here: [link]
