Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
I went to see The Magnetic Fields a few years ago. Stephen Merritt had food poisoning and could barely stand up, and it was still one of the best gigs I've been to.
My favorite Magnetic Fields moment was many years ago, when they were still playing tiny clubs. Merritt lit a cigarette while singing in mid-lyric.

Somehow that seems appropriate, as if Merritt ought to be in discomfort to achieve Magnetic Fields perfection.
I saw Merritt do a solo set at Amoeba and he was great. Just him and an acoustic guitar. (Which was lucky it wasn't being played by Steve Earle.)
Or Charro. Or GUAR.
There's a lady at work that looks like Charro. If she dyed her hair, was taller than 4'5 came up and came up to me and said "coochie-coochie-coochie-coochie-coochie!" ...well I'd probably just freak out and run away in a blind panic.
Or Charro. Or GUAR.
Heh. Exactly so. (Except GWAR, a heavy metal band that plays dressed up like horrible demons from a cheezy dungeons and dragons type fantasy.)
Why didn't anyone tell me about last.fm before? I'm loving it very much, especially in the office.

I knew that. I was just missing my brain.
