Buffista Music III: The Search for Bach
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
My fear of signing up for that filesharing site prevents me from downloading the West/FB mashup - despite my fervent interest in hearing "Sugar, We're Going Down." Could someone who has downloaded possibly send just that track to buffistarawk?
So. I haven't listened to Breakfast of Champions in forever - though it was my normal Friday routine for a long time. This morning I settled in to listen and pulled up Jon's playlist archive to refer to - as is my custom. DUDE. You can click on the bands name now and see exactly what songs he has played on what shows. It is awesome. I am sure this happened several months ago - and perhaps others have even commented - but it's all new, and did I mention *awesome*, to me.
I love it. And I cannot stop clicking on every.single.band.
Also: I really love the new Okkervil River album.
Finally, Friday treat in video form.

Ah, damn, the site has exceeded its free downloads. If someone wants to send me the buffistarawk info I can send that track when I get home. (The Arms Race Megamix is pretty awesome, I must say.)
Yay I'm not the only grown-up (ish) person who loves Fall Out Boy!

Ha! Er, yes, I totally do love them. I worry that I'm going to look ridiculous when I go to their concerts because I'm
older than the band,
but so far it's been nothing but amazing fun. They're hitting Chicago again on October 20th and I'll be there with Vans on.

I still haven't heard enough of them to be lured into the cult (mostly because I'm in complete thralldom to MCR), but I love the video for
"A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More 'Touch Me'".
I think they are very clever with turns of phrase. Reminds me a bit of Harvey Danger.
Shrift, did you get the buffistarawk info?

Glad you like it! I added that feature a couple of months ago. It's all part of a master plan. I used to have static html pages for all my playlists beginning in 2001. About 7 months ago, I dumped them into a database and converted them to dynamic pages. Since then, I've been working backwards adding older playlists into the database at a rate of one year each month (I have notebooks going back to 1986!). I'm currently finishing up 1994. Along the way, I've been tweaking the database and the code adding features like the one you mentioned.
If there's any sort of feature you'd like to see, let me know! I've received very little feedback so far. Here's my most recent show: [link]

Thank you, shrift! Related story: My bf came over for dinner and could not contain his excitement about the big music news of the day. He excitedly told me about the West/FOB album and was crushed that I had not only already heard about it - but had actually heard part of it.
I have no major feelings about Fall Out Boy except that I *really* love "Sugar, We're Going Down." 100% because before we were dating my bf would play it no less than 3 times every time we went to a bar together and then dance while making intense faces of delight. He is not a big Fall Out Boy fan, but as he would say, "that's my jam."
Glad you like it!
I do. I am seriously just addicted to clicking on each band and then extrapolating wildly from there ("Hmmm. I thought Jon liked Braniac more than that. Wow. I need to download "Only If You Want 3" by the Ex right this second.")
If there's any sort of feature you'd like to see, let me know!
A way to search band names to find the latest show you played them on and thus their complete list of songs played. Is that possible?
Not directly, but if you click on a different band name and look at the url, you should be able to figure out how to change it to the band you want.
There's something like that for all of the Breakfast of Champions DJs at [link]
