There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

What? No Daisy Bang?!

I don't know if you can say Spinal Tap never existed since they've actually played many concerts.

It's a good list but a bit predictable. I'd put Gorillaz on there. Probably Pynchon's The Paranoids. Maybe The Wombles. There's a definite lack of bubblegum on that list. Bruce Sterling had a short story titled "We See Things Differently" (I think) that had an interesting imaginary band.

Maybe Pagan Kennedy's The Exes.

I was just making this same point to S while discussing the list. They put out TWO albums, and as you pointed out, have gigged live many times. Didn't they even play a Live Aid or something?

I think they can no longer be considered a fake band.

Also, it made me very, very happy to see the AMA included in that list.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

If Spinal Tap aren't fake, then neither are the Blues Brothers.

Fair enough.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

If Saturday Night Live counts as a performance, The Rutles are real too.

Hec!

I have new hair!. I have to make these photos non-public after a bit or my afraid-of-his-picture-on-the-interweb bf might kill me.

I hope you approve. I love it. Though I feel kind of guilty about the freaking year's worth of my future child's college tuition that it cost me.

Oh and just when we were all getting excited about Parts & Labor - their drummer up and quits the band. Darn it. They were very that-particular-drummer dependent.

Succeeding!

Fantastic haircut, tina. Great cut and really looks amazing on you.

Good job, tina's stylist!

Thank you, sir. It means a lot coming from someone with your short locks expertise.

Seriously, it's obvious you paid good money for that cut. The details are fantastic. You got your money's worth.

Plus? You look totally rock star hot.
