So, how was your summer? Mine was fun. Saw some fish. Went mad with hunger. Hallucinated a whole bunch.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It's very exclamation worthy!

Congratulations! Wow, what a slippery little babe to throw herself into your arms.

I've got an Aunt Geneva and I'm glad to hear that name making it into the 21st century.

Yes, more exclamations all round!!!1! Hope you've all had some sleep in the meantime.

Congratulation to the Mr. & Mrs. Corwood and to Little Sphere, what great news!. How is the big brother doing?

...And, as a special present for Corwood, today's Guardian Film and Music section has a piece on Fairport's "Liege and Lief" and an interview with Anne Briggs.

I saw Richard Thompson play live at my town's annual (free) folk and world music festival last weekend. He was on great form.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Hey, I'm just doing a drive-by to say thanks for the kind words. I'm about to head back up to the hospital to see Mrs. Industries and Geneva. Abe had a lovely visit with Geneva last night. He was mostly ignoring her, but occasionally, he'd come over to let her grab his finger or to touch her face. When I dropped him off at daycare, he was telling his teacher this morning all about his sister ("Sister Geneva! Baby! Little! Warm and cozy!*"), which he followed up with a short interpretative happy dance.

* The "warm and cozy" line is from I'm A Big Brother Now, which we've been reading a few evenings every week for months now.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Sounds like he's on his way to being a very Emmett-like older brother.

It's the interpretive happy dance that gets me.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Dude! Allergies!

I knew that topless lady had something up her sleeve. - John Prine

Sister Geneva, welcome to the world! (That plays to the tune of "Lady Madonna" in my head.) Congrats to the board and employees of Corwood Industries. Good day, too -- it's my dad's birthday, and exactly six months from mine.
